I just got Brisa Bold Colors and simmer collection too last month and love mixing up colors. I get the client involved in founding the right Formula (shade) and mixing it. Its their very own color and they love it.Then I have them pick a name for it.We make up a big enough batch to last several fills. Keeps them coming back for their color. Could maybe charge them extra for the time you would have to spend so they don't constantly want to change colors each fill. But by the time its gone after a few fills they'll be ready to pay to come up with a new color. Soon she'll have several of her personal formula colors that she helped come up with to choice from. I would have to take time to make up the formula anyway this way i know it well get used. I Havent been to a Brisa class yet still waiting for one in my area. But I seam to be getting the hage of it. Gives me a little edge on the competition. I've done CREATIVE and OPI L&P for many many years and gels are a nice change. I'm so glad I got back into doing Nails again I missed it and my clients, But really this is a very bad time here in Michigan people can't afford it. :)

I too love mixing my own BRISA custom colours for individual clients. The thing I love best though is that working this way .... I haven't had to invest allot of money in gazillions of pots of colours that I've had to pay out for, sitting on the shelves getting dusty. To be able to mix hundreds of colours from just a few pots makes so much more sense to me.

I also love how smoothly the colour applies ...... lots of fun to do.

One of my Creative ambassadors (Fi Fo from Scotland) taught me a really cool trick. Instead of saving the colour she has mixed in individually labelled pots, what she does (and now I do ) is this. When finished using the colour she cures the small amount left on the little tray and then writes the recipe on the back of the tray so she can duplicate the colour easily and quickly at the next appointment or for anyone else who wants the same. She displays all her colour 'swatches' in the salon so clients can pick and choose. VERY simple and no waste.

I always enjoy mixing colours and creating some new ones, but mostly with powders as I am also waiting for Brisa custom blending training.
Could you share some your formulas for mixing Brisa gels?

P.S. I agree, this time is hard everywhere and people are considering having nails a lot. Challenging time for us as well :)

Now that the Brisa coverage gels are available custom blend manicures are a doddle ... If you use CND Brisa already I wouldn't think you needed to train to get going with them.

Recipes for colours are something you build up as you go along. TIP: When creating a colour, I always start with equal sized beads of each colour (say I'm using red and white to create a pink shade) then I adjust the shade by adding a half sized bead to go darker or lighter ... maybe add blue or yellow in half sized beads etc for different tones ... when I get what I want, I write down the recipe (immediately).

It does help if you understand colour theory and for that your class will be invaluable, if you do not understand it already. I was an artist for many years before coming into the 'nail' orbit so colour comes naturally to me.

You will also learn 'how much' so that you are not wasteful with the gels.

I too enjoy mixing Brisa colours and having the Brisa Shimmer collection too really adds to this.

Thanks for the tip Gigi and tutorial - wheel of colours is great :) ... never ending creativity

=> Did you used to do paintings or something in that area...? just got curious here concerning possible hidden talents that haven´t leaked out in public yet :)

This all sounds very exciting! Being a brand new Brisa gal, I would love it if anyone had any piccys of colours that have been created. Im only just getting to grips with pink and whites, so colour blending etc is waaaaay off for me, lol!

The color does go on very smooth. I can get by with one coat if i glide it over ligtly.

When you do the refills do you remove all the color before filling or just around zone 3? I've been removing it partly.

I use contact lense containers the ones that screw on, to store my mixed color in for right now, and I also write down the formula and put a sample on one of my clear nail tips so clients can see if it looks nice with their skin tone
