One of my clients has broken her index and middle fingers and has them strapped up at the moment. I just know that she's going to want me to rebalance them for her in a few days, however, I'm really dubious about doing them, especially from a pain point of view for her.

What would you do - rebalance them if she begged you or stand your ground?
I'm thinking stand my ground but know that if I do that she won't be happy :|

Stand your ground Sandi. She'll respect you more in the long run.

That's a tricky one. When i broke my thumb and had it strapped up i would have insisted :D

What does she have Sandi ? I maybe willing to soak off and poppit to avoid and filling and much movement of the hand,i certainly wouldn't rebal.Maybe enamel on them all so they are uniform as a temporary measure ?

Doctors note ?

I'm no help am i ?

She has Brisa one colour overlay at the moment so soaking off isn't an option.

I'm thinking this is a no-no!

Thanks guys

In that case ....... you'll be in her bad books  :D  xx

Blimey that made me wince just thinking about it! I'd have thought if she had any problems in the healing process after the appointment then you could be in the firing line even though you'd like to think anyone with half a brain would realise she wasn't tied to the chair or forced to her appointment. These days though I'm not sure I'd chance it myself

I'd not do it Sandi.

I had a 4 weekly client who had cut her little finger very badly & needed hospital treatment. She came for her appointment and I just did 9 nails rebalance & charged her 90% of the cost!
If you felt like it, maybe a soft buff in zone 3 and reapply to level it out?

I presume one reason its strapped up is so that the bones do not move and can heal and set in the correct position...personally I wouldnt touch it...not sure even a doctors note would sway me tbh x

i would think if its gel, you might be able to do a very gentle patch up on it.
all i have in mind is merely filling the area with a small bead and smoothing gently into the last lot.
if you polish them for her it would disguise any fill lines caused by lack of prep.

I am not suggesting you do this, but i thought id tell you about the time when i broke my my two fingers.

At A&E they said i needed to take my nails off but i refused. Anyway i went on to my salon and they took one look at my hand and sat me down. they explained that they were happy to do the fingers were not broken on the other hand and went on to say that the broken ones could not be worked on as they were not insured to do that. (I have no idea if that is right or not but I totally respected them when they said that).

I cancelled the appointment and they sent me a nice get well soon card a few days later with a voucher in it for a discount on having my nails done as soon as my fingers were better (by the way it hurt like holy heck the next few visits even though they were mended)

I was delighted, am not a kick off person, am very placid and smiley so i dont they were worried id get upset or anything, but for me they dealt with it really well.

That's a great idea, thanks

I had this about 5 weeks ago....she had broken a bone in her hand and had her little finger strapped to her ring finger....She said she was ok so i agreed to do the best i could and that if i was hurting her to tell me and i would stop. I did minimal filing...and tried to hold her finger tip without moving her finger about. She was fine and it was her choice...but i was be very careful and it did take longer.

Personally I wouldn't do it for fear of making things worse. I like the voucher idea.
