Hi geeks, i did my nails yesterday, i fancied a change and did a bright pink glitter french. Well today i am fed up of it already, and it goes with nothing lol! I did them as a sculptured set but like a silly girl i forgot to put clear down first. Now if i had done i could easily have filed back down to the clear. So my question is whats the best way to change them now? Is it best to soak off totally, or reduce all length and file it all away which would take a while. or just reduce thickness and put up with the pink underside (as they are sculpted) with a different colour on top?
Silly me for not concentrating fully

We have all done that!!

Tsk tsk, that'll learn you!!

Oh no..too much work!!

That is what I would do, file the tip off, file the smile line in, apply form and redo tip, with a thin layer of clear first (sorry couldn't resist)
or just reduce thickness and put up with the pink underside (as they are sculpted) with a different colour on top?

That would be the quickest and easist way to do it, and could be quite interesting, after all you must have liked the colour in the first place!!
Silly me for not concentrating fully

Let us know what you finally do !!

Oh...you could always just polish over the top...and go and buy some new pink clothes

i would have to agree, take the tip right down and resculpt it would be the best idea or paint over them til they grow a bit
hth

he he  i did this yesterday too! I did Black/Silver glitter fade over a tip and im sick of them today. I didn't lay a clear down either and i dislike the way i layerd the glitter...i put in a black glitter smile and silver over tip edge brushing up and over the black. Wish i had pulled the black smile over silver tip now. I didn't realise it looked odd until i had finished!
I've painted over them this eveing in black polish (althou i have bodged up my paint job too ) so im about to take off polish and re paint in my first choice of polish which was silver Northern Lights top coat (clear with specs of silver dust) i did test it earlier and it does't cover the glitter but it does soften the look of the glitter. :)

Would it be possible to use a tip cutter to reduce the length? File your future smile line, then put the form back on and sculpt a new tip. Or could that disrupt the enhancement?

Using tips cutters may shatter or crack the enhancement . I know, I 've tried it:green: (along time ago-on myself, not a client)

Just thinking about using tip cutters on the free edge makes me cringe due to the ouch factor,
it hurts like hell, i tried it once in an impatient moment

Sorry got the polish colour wrong...just had another look at my polishes and it was O.P.I 'Happy Anniversary' which toned down the glitter tips not the Northern Lights! I decided to stick with the black polish thou :)
