Great Thread
This is from a prevoius thread but would like some advice please
I have read most of the replys on this thread and totally agree about good training as I myself have had some really naf training in the past  first I went to college after qualifying in Man/Ped I went on to do nail exts's and being older I realised that this was my mistake as the tutor held a 2 day course it was awful and she didn't even show us how to take them off a £150 down the drain but I was naive and thought that it would be the best way to go through college but it wasn't it was really scary that the tutor thought that her course was good aarrrgh:mad: I thought of all those young girls on the course that really believed that they would make nail tech's as the pass paper was handed out whatever your capability was it was just a rip off so I practised practised but in no way thought that I was a capable nail tech NO WAY was I:rolleyes: so I booked myself on another course IBD I got it free after spending on their starter kit at the show (Manchester) that was just a day course and still i didn't feel I was a capable nail tech far from it so I wasn't charging much at this point still wanting all the knowledge and practice I could get still I went on again and went on another day course which was really scary it was (Acrygel) an American company you probably know them they were excellent in their aftercare to a still novice like me any questions they were there at the other end of telephone which the college wasn't  but it started failing as I was getting complaints alll thetime about lifting I lost clients through it:confused: so now I'm back with IBD and I like it as a product but since I have found this site I am feeling totally wind out of sales for want of a better expression my confidence has taken a huuuuuge knock as listening to you all and the training you have had I don't even feel close to being a tech like you guys are I am confused when you are on about things on here and feel that my training needs attention once again and now feel I went down the wrong route although at the time I thought the college would be the one:rolleyes: oh god I've been mobile for 2 years and find it very hard to keep up the momentum does anyone else? I find my clients soo fickle and this industry sooo unpredictable etc has anyone else felt like throwing in the towel as I have sooo many times:rolleyes: and now feel even worse about my nails etc

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Thanks to all of you for this wonderful site:hug:

Awwww chick sorry to hear you have had a rough time with training!! We have all been there!!! Have you thought about converting to Creative?? The courses are second to none and you can book 121 sessions as and when you need them to keep your skills up and improve your confidence!!

im still training myself so can t fully comment but i think as some of the geeks said on the other thread- they are always learning and doing other courses, so it all adds to your ability and knowledge, right?:)

You know what spiderman says-" knowledge is power"!!!!!!

Hugs babe! stick with it!

Awww bless ya

Get onto CND and get yourself booked on a course.... Its fab i have only had 3 days so far but been going on with the nails for just under a week and i am spending hours practicing, i have clients waiting for me to do their nails and they are paying me..

The teaching was superb and our tutor made sure we could enhance and remove then told us to get out there and do it!! So i have .

I just tell all my clients any problems whatsoever call me and i will do my best to rectify.

I love it, I cant recommend CND highly enough....

Your confidence will increase with the correct training and your heart & soul.

CND? is that creative as everyone seems to recommend them:confused: I've done 3 course so I can do nails it's just it's not enough and I feel after being on here I really need to get my act together with training I do all the other beauty treatments but the nails are I feel the most complex and need to be triained on all the time:rolleyes:

Have you a number of who I need to get in contact with somebody else on here recommended CNA Wales as she does course near me but I will go with whatever people say I just want a good course?

Any info you have I will greatly appreciate

Hi hun,any chance you can put fullstops and paragraphs in your thread please as its hard to read like this.

I done a thread the other day with about 7 lines to it and got moaned at about paragraphs, capitals etc..Im sure others will appreciate it too,if its not very clear it may not get read, thats all Im thinking.

Keep your chin up dont give in ,get your self on another decent course, where you get back up too from the tutor if you have probs.xx

If I could turn back time and knew what one of my courses was going to be like that Ive been on ,I would have taken my money to Creative,as they do aload of different courses, and there not too far from me,but at the time I didnt have access to the internet, and just see an add in a magazine for an intensive course,so booked it..what a waste of money..I had no back up just feel that I was left to get on with it...:confused:but we live and learn though.

Hi Kate
you have been given some excellent advise as far as training with Creative (CND) their number is 0845 2106060
as you can already do nails i would suggest doing a conversion course with them first so that you learn all about how the products work and the mix ratio`s etc (each company's products are different)
then do a skill builders course with them,
on the skill builders course they concentrate on your problem areas and you will come away from both of these courses having learnt lots more than you ever did on your previous courses,
hope that helps you hun

Kate (worthit) hi i feel just like you i have lost a couple of clients due to lifting it always seems to be the people who i think could be real clients that go wrong my mums and friends are fine so i get confident hand some cards out and it goes wrong. I am back on the practising again after my ezyflow conversion but running out of people and money cos I'm doing lots of freebies. I am trying to decide what to do next i want to advertise and throw myself into it but i don't want to jump in to soon and mess up x
