Can I ask does anyone have a declaimer on their website that if a tan does not last we are unable to refund?
I tan lots of clients but there are two sisters that have been times three times by me and on each occasion one has always complained that the tan is too light or it doesn’t last – these are the only folk that have complained to me and its now getting to be a habit – I know Im good at spray tanning because i have loads of repeat customers plus those that come religiously every two weeks – it’s now starting to be more than a coincidence – one of the sisters has terrible psoriasis on her legs and i mean it’s really bad so i would reckon her skin is shedding far quicker than a normal skin but Im not medically qualified .
On previous occasions to keep them happy I’ve drove 10 miles there and back to tan them – the sister is very body conscious so that’s why she asks for me but its sounds awful i feel they are now at it! .
I am really thorough on their consultation as I am for every client and more so because I’ve had these issues in the past with the same two people – the only thing i queried was her using E45 but ref my sister looking at these forums that doesn’t seem to be bad for fake tans – or am I wrong.
This time i used Sienna X 10 on them and I’ve used Vani-T Velocity also but she said it looked like she didn’t have a tan the next day. These products have been great on all my other clients.
I really don’t want these clients coming back to me in the future as I have lots of clients that never complain (I always tell them any problems at all to call me and they all come back for repeat tans saying how good it is)

I have beauty record sheets that cover me for everything and I get every new client to do even for a 5 min brow shape, even if they say 'im just visiting town for the day'
I have their name, number, email info and where they heard about my salon. Then ask if they have sensitive skin (if yes they write details) if they have allergies (if yes more details) if they wear contacts (only really there for half the treatments i do) then underlying medical conditions that could affect their treatment today. Then (this sounds like a really long form but its not!) Then...

Please tell us if there are any changes to the information above when you visit in the future (sign below to confirm you are happy with your treatment, the aftercare advice given and the above personal information is understood and completed to the best of your knowledge.)

Its been working for me(i whip the sheet out everytime they are in-beats a computer system coz they can physically sign it), it's defo not you if its the same two clients every time, sounds like they need to buy a good fake tan friendly moisturiser, some clients are better at maintanence than others.

Firstly yes, people with psoriasis do shed more skin cells more quickly then people with healthy skin.
So the tan won't last so long, but to be honest, I think this pair are trying to scam you. You use good quality solutions, no one else has a problem with your tans so..............
Are you giving them free tans? Or just putting up with their complaints.
If you're giving free, then it's time to stop, tell them that they obviously don't suit spray tans and offer them a tan in a can. No dha, but good for the night out.
If it's just the complaints, well some people are only happy when they are moaning, it's all money and they do keep comeing back;)

hi - thanks for the replies girls - I have consultation cards for everyone even the out of towner just for the day but im afraid when they come next i have a quick scan for myself whereas in future i will make a point of bringing out there card and going over it again

Wihtout being funy my customers always say how much information i give them on pre and post tan and when they are getting sprayed all i talk about is the tan and what to do and how to maximise - they are mesmorised by the info I give them thats what makes this situation disappointing

I must admit I had never thought about the tan in a can - so im using it next time.

I must agree that some of my moany just for the sake of it clients have become my best customers so maybe in a way I thought this would happen but its not - I dont like people who take advantage of others and as my sis says they probably work round all the other spray tanners and do the same with them :(then they chase them back to me!

I dont think she appreciated my comment although put nicely her skin may shed quicker than anyone without that skin condition so maybe that may make her think that im not happy doing her tan anymore and if she comes back I will suggest i retail her the Sienna X tan in a can and leave her to spray herself!!!!

Thanks ladies - I really appreciate your help and your ideas which I'm going to use from now on :) hopefully sorted and if not for-armed lol!

The main thing that stands out to me is the fact that although they keep having 'problems' with you, they keep returning. So you are obviously doing something right and they are clearly trying to scam you, especially if you give them free tans when they complain. Everybody is different so I never give any guarantees.

I know why they keep coming back - Im too soft lol!!!

I need to go on a toughening up course!!!!!

Dont worry - I wont be so daft next time lol!!!

HI

Its sounds like they are taking the Micheal!

When you get your hair cut does the hairdresser guarantee your haircut will last a full 6 weeks? No of cause not because everyone is different!

If you have filled in a tan form and she has signed it then rings to complain, I would say I am sorry your not happy maybe you should try someone else for a while.

Say it nicely and mean it and she will get the message, I bet she comes back!

Hiya, I have a client getting a ten read this form and then sign it, I also have an info leaflet made out, if they come into the salon to book, and it is a new client I give it away with them, if a telephone booking I give it to them afterwards, here's the form I get them to sign, if you want me to send the info leflet, pm me and I will forward it to you, if it will be of any help, hth x ruth

The outcome of a spray tanning solution can be affected by different products and/or conditions. Please read through the following information, and if happy, sign and date at the bottom.

*Psoriasis and eczema are conditions that may cause the development of your tan to be uneven.
*If you are in the first trimester of pregnancy you should not be spray tanned, although tanning is safe during the 2nd & 3rd trimester there is a risk of uneven pigmentation in the skin and this may result in white patches. If you are breast feeding the breast area would have to be covered during the application.
*Some medications may stop the tan developing e.g. Steroids, strong Antibiotics and Chemotherapy.
*If any moisturisers/shower gels with moisturisers have been used prior to application this can cause an uneven tan, as the chemical that brings out the colour in your skin cannot penetrate efficiently.

***I have read the information above, and am aware of the conditions and products that may affect the spray tan treatment***
