How do you all feel ?

I really really really hate square nails and I also loathe loathe loathe French manicure. The 2 together really gives me the willies:irked:

Every man to his own but for me you cannot beat natural ovals polished or unpolished:)

i love long almonds on myself, but i am also a secret closset lover of long square nails with lots a glitter :o only on myself.
luckily for the majority of my clients they all have oval natural coloured enhancements with polish and the odd few under 25's still wanting their french squares.

Ok,if i am very honest,i dislike almond the most, especially on myself.

Almond shape with enamel, reminds me of my gran x

I don't know about you, but I can almost guarantee what someone will have by their age! The younger they are the squarer and more fake looking they want. I love the almond shape so I guess that makes me a geriatric. :green: However I have to wear fairly square as I have really deep sidewalls and find getting an almond shape quite difficult with them.

I just wish clients would let you do what suits them though, sometimes I try to convince them that what they want will not be the most flattering for them, but they insist on having what they want! Ah well the client is always right ... they pay my bills after all!

I think it depends on what shape hands you have to what shape you go for.

I dislike oval shaped nails on myself and tend to go for square shaped nails. I think it's a personal choice and should be asked to every client. When my friends have extensions I ask them whether the tech asked them and most of the time they are not asked, which I don't think is very fair on the paying client!!!

I hope this makes some sort of sense!!! lol

Love almond and stilleto shapes but as Sassy said shape seems to be sorted on age in my area, yong trendy hips have very white french squares, in their 20 or 30's more squoval and older the almond shape.

I like all but stilletto!! Almonds ok but prefer squoval & square. But like Sassy said I think its more of an age thing as people like my gran & mum love oval where as younger girls like square or squoval I've found. :)

I am not an almond shaped girl at all....Square here for me.And square for clients.

I love almond's and stilleto's but I dont like squoval or round, if they are gonna be square I like them dangerously square so you can poke your eye out (that's just on me mind) I personally dont like painted, airbrushed or white tipped french, but I do love acrylic/gel french in white or any colour especially glitter.

I love square, I agree with the age thing (mind you I am not a spring chicken) I find the more mature ladies do like round nails, have to admit I think they do help the enhancement look more natural.

It very much depends on the shape of the persons hands, ie square looks awful on big hands/nails but can look good on slender hands. I like not too long squoval on my natural nails. The only shape I particularly dislike is thick, long, fake, porno type nails. Otherwise, it depends on the client, the size of their nailbeds and hands and their age.

I love all shapes!! Honestly. LOL! Just depends on my mood which shape I have. If they're long they'll probably be square. Short, and I'll either go square or almond shaped. Also love stilleto. And lipstick shape lasted on my hands the longest of them all. :)

:green:

I don't like square or ovals (unless they are wide - if that makes sense)

Hi,
Personnally i like square nails on myself as i have short, quite wide nails beds and also because this is the strongest nail shape.
But when i treat my mum to a manicure i like to do her nails almond shape she has long slender fingers and long, thin nail beds. Also she never cuts her nails so she has a lot of length to work with. I think her hands and nails are a manicurists dream. Im so lucky to have her as my mum even if it is just for her nails LOL.

Righty I dont like rounded or oval shaped nails, I hate red enamel lol
I love square and I love the French look but white tips are a no no in my book. So thats me common and chavvy

I love almond or square on myself, but i like them long, not short.

I do get bored doing french square nails as that's what most people want, but i will tell people what would look better if the square shape isn't right for them, but you can only advise if they want a different shape.

I detest stiletto on myself, but if you have slender fingers then they look great.

sick of french.:irked:
hate rounded nails on small short nail beds, they look like buttons.
like square, really sharp.
looooove stiletto:green:

I like all nail shapes as each one looks good on someone. I would wear all if I could to stop from getting bored but have very short nail beds (like smarties lol) so squoval is best for me as the rest require too much length and I have to have them very short or they are top heavy

I must say that I tend to stick to square or squoval. Must be the youngster in me wanting to cling on to my long lost youth!

In answer to the question, I do like all nail shapes but I think oval or almond give a more 'classic' look and elongate the fingers more than square.

I tend to wear either short squoval or long oval enhancments myself as I find these the easiest to work with. I can't wear long square nails as I end up catching them or filing them by accident. For clients I do square all day long so it's nice to get a few having oval for a change. I actually don't find that a client's choice of shape is significantly influenced by age, as most just go for square. I did full sets a couple of days ago for a mother and daughter, the mother had square & the daughter had oval.
