Hi all,

Didn't really want to ask this question but i need to know if other's suffer from my problem. Well here goes, when i do peoples nails i get really sweaty in my crutch area :cry: i know some of it is nerves.

Hey kat :) I've also suffered before! Are you mobile or in a salon? As I find sitting on anything plastic or leather tends to not help! I'm mobile so am sitting on all types of surfaces! Be interesting if any other brave geeks own up to having the same problem! Xx

What are you wearing chick? Could it be your uniform?

I was just about to say maybe your trousers are irritating you or too tight when you sit in certain positions, maybe linen trousers would help a bit? Hth x

All cotton knickers and loose cotton or linen trousers should be enough to keep you more comfortable.

Panty liners and cotton pants!

I find that I suffer with this at certain times of the month! I now use a spray that I get from avon, similar to fem fresh. Its basically a deodorant for the nether regions, works a treat x

Regular breaks to strech your legs are essential for you general well being too x

Good to see us talking about some real everyday problems that many of us experience:)

Yes, I too have had this problem, especially here in Australia in summer when it gets really humid.
I changed to all cotton underwear, looser fitting pants, always wear a panty liner (that has a bit to do with having children and the problems they cause:) ) and I too have used fem fresh when needed.

I find a good thing that seems to also help me is after I have showed and dried off, I use my hair dryer on cool and dry that area and it makes me start off fresh and dry cause no matter how much you dry with a towel, it never feels totally dry I reckon.
I do this after I have totally finished doing everything, from my make up, my hair, everything, it is my last step before leaving to get dressed.

Thanks ladies, i wear cotton nics all the time and legging with my uniform because they are comfortable maybe when my nerves settle down this will go away.

I changed from wearing horrid "therapist" trousers for this very reason and found some great loose floppy thin jersey ones from "good ole" M & S. They just have an elasticated waist (not in a granny sort of way tho) thats like an invisible waistband. They are so comfy when sitting down and because they are jersey material they dont crease and aren't tight at all.

Kara are the trousers your talking about yoga style trousers? I'm still on the look out for something more comfy than the standard 'therapist' type black trousers. I have seen some yoga trousers and they looked ideal but were out of stock in my size at the time, since then I've not seen them in the shops but would buy online if they are the correct type that will help me to keep cool and be comfy.

I find my trousers uncomfy when tanning with all the squatting down, I love my leggings for comfort but I feel I'd need longer tunics to wear leggings to work (so have been on the look out for longer tunics or short-ish tunic dresses at reasonable prices).

Baggybear, I bought mine last year and I think they call them something different this year! but looking at the M&S webside they look like the "Bootleg Jersey trousers". They describe them as pull on and thats exactly what mine are like.

The best thing is that I paid £20 and now they seem to be £15 yipee, going off to buy some more.

Yep, nerves can have some weird effects! Ditch the thongs and wear cotton knicks when you know your going to be doing something that you feel makes you nervous :)

Im glad someones asked this question! I used to think it was due to me having a bit more meat around my bones, lol :) for this very reason i hated going to college as when the class was over after three hours sitting down i would have to hide my chair :-(

and i knew was clean and all as i used to take a shower just before i leave to college and it used to be worse on warmer days :-/

i will have to try the solutions mentioned above tho. It probably is due to the type of clothes you wear as well, just like all of you say! As i wear the same type of trousers during the day at my day job - they are part of the uniform . The only difference is in colour.

there are medical conditions which make you sweat excessfully and it has been proven that there is a link to stress.
the other posters have all made good pionts that will help you ,try doing some deep breathing when your doing the nails as it so easy to hold your breath when you doing nails which stress the body , also try dabbing so lavender essetail oil on a tissue and carrying that withyou the oil will help you relax too.

Well done for being so brave! I suffer with this problem too. I remember at school I used to fidget in my chair during assembly to make sure that strip of condensation didn't show when I stood up. I always thought it was just me, because noone else had it :scared:

My solution is cotton undies and leggings... and if you feel you're getting a little 'warm' in the seated area, just slide over to one side of the chair and cross your legs - it wipes away that patch and you get a bit of air there.

Stay positive!

I have a medical condition called hyperhidrosis since I was 5 I tried all the creams deodorants and so on.I went to the doctors saw a specialist and I was the first person in England that had Botox for sweating I was a guinie pig lol I had lots of injection but nothing has worked I sweat awfully in my armpit area I wear a top and I'm literally soaked within half an hour and when I mean soaked I mean from armpit to the bottom of my top and it spreads right across my boobs.

I also sweat down stairs to lol and my bum crack lol if I sit on a plastic chair I have a line of sweat down the chair.

I do not smell one little bit it's just like water pooring out of me it's just as bad in the summer and winter.

I have learned to except I'm a sweaty so n so I don't let it bother me anymore I don't care .

Try some of the things people have suggested on here you will be surprised with the difference.

I wish these things worked for me but I must say I'm an extreme case the worst they had ever seen apparently  lol xxxx

oh my god i love this thread, i carry my white chair around with me EVERYWHERE because i refuse to sit on clients chairs incase i leave the dreaded sweaty crack mark behind  there was me thinking i was just a paranoid freak, glad others suffer too! also you can get a deodrant from the chemist or from the doctors which you apply every 5 days and it stops you from sweating, just read the instructions because god can you cause damage if you don't x

lol snap! Me and another girl in my tutor used to get it and used to try and pick certain school chairs that didnt do it! Ha Ha and we used the good old moving and shuffling bum method to remove sweat smear. :)
