Environ® court action supports professional skincare therapists

Environ Skin Care has underlined its commitment to professional therapists by issuing proceedings in the High Court in London against rogue web retailer First For Skincare.
The South African manufacturer’s products are sold exclusively by authorised stockists following personal consultations and the company does not allow product sales on the internet, through TV shopping channels or department store counters.

David Alpert, managing director of Wholeview Ltd, Environ’s UK and Ireland distributor comments, “Environ is distinguished by its stance as a strictly professional only brand; we take the unauthorised online sale of our products extremely seriously. It is vital that salons know they can confidently build long term business without the risk of the products appearing in retail or TV outlets.”

Thats great, if only more companies took this stance! I had the rep for Environ out yesterday, I have nothing bad to say about them! (other than I cant get on their next training day as its full) but thats my inpatience, lol

I'll bear this in mind when I select the skin care range I opt for. Thanks!

Good for Wholeview and Environ. I wish more companies were like this when it comes to jumping on unauthorised sellers - one very large company springs to mind immediately.

Not only does it take money from the professionals (us) the end user could be using totally the wrong products for their skin.

does anyone have the details for the UK distributor or Environ? I keep getting put through to the south american site/number/email :)
thanks

'We have, in pursuance to our commitment to provide safe trade in ENVIRON products to our valued customers, successfully obtained judgement against DARREN HARTFORD, CRAIG MITCHELL t/a FIRSTFORSKINCARE, NATIONAL PRIDE TRADING 31 (PTY) LTD and SHARON DAVIS in the United Kingdom, who sell ENVIRON products there in contravention of our Intellectual Property rights.....'

This is fantastic news.

I thought legally if you purchase a product from a supplier, it becomes your property and due to anti-competition laws you are legally allowed to sell the product over the internet.

If Environ succeeds this would be a tremendous break through for the skincare industry!

I feel like calling my supplier Dermalogica and getting them to to seek advice off Environ :)

Gelly's links state that Environ have successfully obtained judgement against the other company so it is a done deal, unless the other side appeals which is likely unless that was the deal.

Gelly should also watch out taking the text from Environs website as at the bottom it say that no parts should be reproduced with out written permission and I've heard there sue :)

Hmmm.... I've heard that too

Might edit my post
