has anyone used Essie perky purple ( 693 )

I bought it today and tried it on my nails :eek::eek: It looks a fab colour in the bottle but dried up very very matt and looked awful ?

I tried it on a friend who doesn't have any product on her nails and exactly the same happened ???

I am not sure about this particular varnish but one of the latest thingys is the matte look! If you don't like it like that then a quick top coat will bring it up again.

Sheila :)

I woiulda thought it should have said matt on the bottle ?

Matte is supposed to be the new in thing. I don't care for it either.

CND have approached it differently ... in the new Colour Effects range launched on September 7th, it includes a Matte Top Coat .. so that you can make any colour matte if the client requests it .. but you won't end up with colours that you can't sell in the bottle. THAT to me makes much better sense.

In the meantime if you want a fabulous purple that is not matte, and has lustre i would get "heiress" from CND...it is classy and sophisticated, yet still will go with jeans and a white shirt,or you can dress it up with an evening outfit....yep i love it:rolleyes::lol:

That's a really good idea and does make a lot of sense being a top coat. Matte nails are not my cup of tea either and my clients aren't impressed either. I bought one by mistake which did not state on the bottle that it was matte, so they are about.

Sheila x:)
