hi,

i was reading my monthly mag about nails and there was a artikel in there about this girl that mixes her own color acrylics with eyeshadow pigments.
now i did not know were to buy this product so i had a look on ebay and yes there they were eyeshadow pigments for next to nothing. the mix ratio for the powders is 1 scoop of pigment and 4 scoops of clear powder.
now i have tryed is and it and it is beautiful.
the colours are beautiful and subtul.
sorry i am from belgium, englisch spelling is not so good.

the one thing she said is not to buy eyeschadow powders from china beceause of lack of regulations towards toxins and so. bot otherwise go for it.:green:

the other thing she said as well is that it thas not work very wel for flowers beceause you can not can enought ridge detail,.

thanks for the info,do you have any pictures for us to see?:)

I use this method at times and have had great results... and you don't really need much of the eye pigment to get a good colour.

Why not just buy coloured powders from the same company who supplys your normal nail powder? Even if it seems to work, I prefer to stick to the chemistry that I KNOW works together. Who knows what problems you may have down the line by mixing stuff together that really isn't meant to go together?

I agree with you Geeg.

I have done this a long time ago and found the product would break down sometimes and crack, it was almost like the pigment meant it didn't quite cure.

You may be fine with what you are doing, but be aware of possible problems.:)

I have done this with glitter mixer and eyeshadow powder (like my BarryM dust) for arty farty stuff but not sure I would mix with acrylic powder?!?! Chemistry can be different for each product and brand so would be hesitant. Might try on nail trainer tho. Can't hurt that.
