Hi,

I cant see why u wouldnt be able to use cnd cuticle remover before using Ezflow l&p as you would rinse it off .
Ezflow do teach the "dry" prep method though, and say you dont need to use a cuticle remover before applying their products.Sometimes though i have found that ive needed to use a cuticle remover and ive not had any problems !!

I will say though that when i was on my Ezflow courses, my educator did say they have found that CND'S scrubfresh can cause lifting of their products, so i would just stick to using their prep products or try it out for yourself and see if you get any problems.
I personally just stick with using the prep products that are designed to be used with that Brand, it just makes it easier for me.

Maybe someone else who uses scrubfresh with Ezflows l&p and will be able to tell you otherwise as i havnt actually tried it out myself.:)

Hazel is spot on......
we recommend dry prep and to use your ezbond and primer when prepping as thats what they are designed to do............ scrubfresh can cause lifting and if you are doing correct ezflow prep you shouldnt need to use another product

as an FYI Jess... Scrubfresh can't cause lifting! It is designed specifically to prevent it and plenty of EZ / NSI / OPI users use Scrubfresh during PREP with absolutely no problems. Don't get me wrong I am all for using systems but I had to comment on the above.

Georgie Smedley confirmed this when she came to see me

FYI Cuticle remover is now renamed cuticleaway :)

True cuticle skin which grows up the natural nail (hitches a lift), is much better removed before application of any product as L&P, gel etc are not designed to bond to skin. As the true cuticle is pretty much invisible to the naked eye, cuticleaway is designed to assist you in the removal process.

After use it is removed with soap and water and is therefore suitable for use with any system.

You should either use plain water or water with a little Citrusoak but not soap as that has oils in it

Cuticle Remover needs to be deactivated once it's done it's job.
I would say plain water will not do this effectively.
Water and a little CitruSoak or any of the CND Scentsations hand and body washes will do the business.
I feel it's fine to use soap! Yes it contains oils, but why is that a problem???
You will be removing shine and then thoroughly ScurbFreshing the nail plate next, so the oils in the soap should not cause a problem. :)

I was only following advice I had read in a post by Gigi

As a CND & EzFlow user (trained with both) I would stay away from using CND Cuticle remover when using EzFlow products.
I use it when I use CND obviously.
But not now, when I use EzFlow. I did use it after my EzFlow training initially, as I couldn't see why it would be a problem. But I was wrong - EVERY set i did using all EzFlow products AND CND cuticle remover lifted - quite quickly.
I don't use it with my EzFlow enhancements now - only all EzFlow inc prep products and I have no lift problems with EzFlow.
I don't have lift problems with CND either for the record & all my CND enhancements are all cnd products.

That is my experience anyway.

just to throw a spanner in the works so to speak, I use CND cuticle remover with Calgel and wipe after with Calgel's sanitiser and have no problems at all. Most of the time I dry prep, but the odd client needs their pterygium removed with CND cuticle remover. I dont use any other brand of cuticle remover as I am happy with CND's (got it at a show)

Ok guys thanks for your replies..mixed replies at that ... a little confused now..I can only but try it out for myself and see how I get on .

I dont have problems with lifting , but I used the cuticle remover on myself the other day before putting Bio Sculpture on and noticed how nice my cuticles looked after.Unfortunatly I cant wear Ezflow acrylic at the moment as as soon as I put it on my fingers start itching like mad! so will have to find some models to try it on.

just to throw another spanner in lol
i have used ez flow, with scrubfresh and not had lifting

The lesson here is that you should stick to systems. EZ Flow have their prep routine for and CND have theirs. Intermixing systems makes it a real challenge to help diagnose breakdown (i.e. lifting). If you like EZ Flow product, use the prep system they recommend. If you like CND products, use their prep system!

FWIW, I can't see the logic in a product that is designed to remove something causing lifting (ScrubFresh or CuticleAway). ScrubFresh removes oil, moisture and contaminants. The only thing it leaves behind are pathogen fighting agents to help combat greenies. Not sure how on earth that could cause lifting. CuticleAway removes the cuticle from the surface of the plate and is significantly more effective than a dry removal. The whole reason you need to rinse (with a detergent like soap, or CitruSoak) is to remove the thickening agent that CuticleAway contains (this is to add control and a safety mechanism to prevent an accidental splash). If you don't remove the thickening agent with a detergent, then there is a probability you will be contributing to lifting regardless of what system you use.

So... I can't understand the logic of either of these products causing any system to lift. In fact, I couldn't think of a better way to prepare the nail plate and make it free of cuticle, oil, moisture and contamination.

Anyhooo... that beeith my two peneth

i haven't used scrubfresh with ezflow since i have always stuck to their prep products. but when i did a set of ezflow on my own nails i noticed that the use of my scrubfresh, since i mainly use cnd on my customers, did affect the l&p. i guess ezflow is more sensitive to scrubfresh then cnd. the product started to chip on the free edge of my right hand while the other was perfectly intact.

Out of total curiosity, what " agent "or " chemical" is it that is left behind on the natural nail to fight pathogenic bacteria ?
Thanks
Hazel

EzFlow have their own products for this Fade Away (cuticle remover) & EzBond (PH balancer ,dehydrator & Anti-Fugus agent) if you always stick to one brand then the company will always be able to answer any questions you may have

Seriously guys systems are super important pick one you love and if you love it love it ALL from A to Z!!

Some new information on the soap in the water thing for removing Cuticle Remover (Cuticle Away) is that the only soap CND officially advises is CitruSoak. They made that distinction at the training in 2007, so it is still somewhat new information.

If you learn with system "A" and are taught a certain way then why start to confuse issues by using system "B" as well?
EzFlow promotes dry prep and that is how it is taught....so do as you are taught.
CND uses other products so use the ones they tell you to....it's pretty straughtforward really.
What is the point in doing various training courses costing £££ and then not listening to what you've been taught on the course?

Well personally I was just thinking in terms of if somebody had really bad cuticles ,Cuticle eraser would do the job quicker and more efficiant than scrapping away with my pro pusher.

Today I had a new client I was there for half an hour longer than normal as she had bad cuticles , i thought to myself ...ow if only I could get my CND cuticle remover out , but at the moment am not sure I can be guaranteed its not going to cause me any problems .

Well Geeg has mentioned in a previous thread mentioned above ... scrubfresh is compatable with any brand , so I should have no problems using that, surely as long as the cuticle remover is properly removed, there should be no problem.

I can understand that Ive been taught a certain way to do my prep , and appreciate that ,but I was also taught to buff my L &p to a high shine , and apply a top uv top coat after,..the buffing I find very time consumming IMA , Ive I have met up with another Geek at some point who asvised me just to use a UV gel top coat on top of the acrylic..I have invested in NSI glaze n go ..and must say I ve had no probs and had regular comments about the product, and found it cut my time down.!
