Ive just qualified and I'm starting to build up my clients but I havent got round to doing a leaflet drop. I thought it was all going ok but could be better and I found this site. Dont get me wrong I have found a lot of help of you but I read a post this morning about new people and it made me feel really unwelcome because I have asked for help previously but then i didnt feel like i should of. At the moment I'm struggling with my price list and making sure I have included everything and I found some help for that on here. I just feel a bit like I jumped in at the deep end and dont really know what to do to move forward. I think there are proberbly a lot of people in the same boat as me who just don't really feel like they can ask.

Sorry about the rant but I just think new people should be welcome too afterall you all started somewhere

I am sorry that you feel that way.

Everyone is welcome here and although it can seem a bit daunting to start off with I am sure you will find it a great place to be. We all found starting up a struggle so don't feel afraid to ask for help.

Everyone is welcome hun and everyone has questions. Don't worry. Just ask! I'm sure you'll get some answers xx

Welcome to the site. You will learn a lot and please don't be put off asking questions!

I have only been here since January and this site has helped me so much. I am still finding my way around the site and probably ask questions that a million other people have asked but every one has been nothing but polite. I must admit I do sometimes forget to look through the search engine when I have a question but no one has been rude.

Don't feel intimidated, there are some very experienced and highly professional people on here and they give me encouragement and make me want to aspire to what they achieve.

We are all here because we all love nails.

Everyone is welcome here, and to ask questions.

I don't know what post it was that you were reading, but I imagine it was possibly about people asking homework questions and wanting more experienced geeks to write the answers, to save the poster looking for themselves. That's not on, as the way to learn is to find out for yourself, and to then ask for confirmation using the information you have obtained. People do take a dim view of asking questions like that.

Or possibly someone was told to use the "search" facility. There really is a lot of information which can be found using this facility, and it saves writing out your question and people having to repeat information time and time again. You can pass many an hour ....or two ....or three reading through all the info it throws up.

Don't worry about being here. Do a wee search before you post a question to see if the answer is already there for you, and if not, ask away! xxxx

Don't be silly

How would we have a site that has grown to be the biggest on line site for professionals in the WORLD .. if we didn't welcome new members?

Of course you are welcome. I wouldn't let one post make me feel unwelcome.

this site was designed to help people, which is exactly what happens.

i think that sometimes everyone-newbies and oldies, who have put so much time, money and practise into getting their qualifications get a bit fed up or annoyed with some people who come on here to ask questions about actually doing nails/hair/beauty without the relevant training or knowledge and who also have no intention of taking courses to get this. again alot of people think that it is easy to do beauty, because experienced beauticians/nail techs/hairdressers make it look easy, but they dont actually realise how much hard work it takes and how dangerous it can be without the relevant knowledge.

as much as this site is here to help people, at the same time nobody here will jeopodise the health and safety of the public, by giving information or advise to non-professionals except to get training and sometimes some people dont like that answer.

im really sorry that you feel the way you do now, but i just hope that you can understand some of the responses sometimes given. xx

Hi thanks everyone i feel much better now and I have searched for everything that I have wanted to know first and I do understand it must get annoying answering questions a million times over x

Welcome to the site Laura, don't let one post make you feel unwelcome, this is a massive site and you will occasionally see threads you disagree with but don't take them to heart and don't be afraid to join in.

If we let things like this affect us in real life then we wouldn't leave our houses eh?

You will love it here babes I promise

Welcome to the site hun, i am sorry that you read a thread that made you feel unwelcome,
It was probably a thread to do with the untrained people coming on here and trying to get free advice without taking or thinking about taking a course, if it was that thread then it definately was not directed to people such as yourself who have done training or are looking into doing some training. You will make some good friends on this site (i know i have) and you will learn loads (i think all of us have done that, lol) and you will have a laugh cos really we are a funny bunch:eek::lol::lol:
Hope to see you on the boards,
Jo.Xx
