Hi
Do any of you use folder tissue as a toe separator when painting toenails and if so do you point the start of the tissue down from the little toe or up in the air (hope this makes sense:lol:)!

Hi Lisa, I was taught this way in college, I always thread it so the start of the tissue points downwards at the little toe as I find it can get in the way if pointing up x

I use toe rope from Ellisons (Sweet Squared sell it too). I like the professional look of it! I too make sure the rope is downwards at the little toe!

Thanks both of you - thought it would be that way as otherwise it seems to flap and get in the way but just wanted to check. :)

hi lisa this is the way i was taught ...thread it so the start of the tissue points downwards at the little toe ..it can get in the way if pointing up & end up sticking polish to it...i use the toe ropes now more professional.

I was thinking of toe ropes how much do these cost form various places please?

You have a PM with the prices.
:)

I buy cotton in a 12lb long string. I just thread a piece of that through clients toes, starting at the big toe (underneath) and it ends underneath at the pinkie.

I like the sound of toe rope. I tried all sorts of toe separators but didn't get on with them so I've been using tissue. Thanks x

i use tissues as its cost effective and hygienic. alot of clients have said what a simple but effective way, and again they its hygienic and comfortable.

toe ropes ive used before, some are alittle fat but depends where you get them from. and i agree look more professional.

x

I use tissue too, find this easier and when you have done your client you can leave the tissues in and they can remove them once the enamel has fully dried. This way is more hygenic too i guess.

I usually use toe separators but use tissue if doing children's feet as the toe separators are so huge! Yes, down at little toe :)

pedicure slippers is another good way if clients don't like the bulk of the toe rope they are called scampers pedicure sandals the ones where each toe is slipped through little holes before putting on polish beauty express has them

anything that separates the toes is efficient, I know a salon that uses wine gum lollies ( i think thats pretty cool)

Please don't tell me they offer them to the client afterwards as a snack...

Myself, I use tissue. Easy, disposable, comfortable, and ONE LESS EXTRA THING I have to carry! Clients usually seem to think it's quite clever as toe separators are often such a hard fit.

I picked up a tip someone suggested on here (sorry can't remember who it was)

I use the expanded polysterene packing thingies that are shaped like unshelled peanuts. They are perfect for the job.

I twist a piece of couch roll into a toe rope.
