I am only new to nail industry. I started my course last August and I absolutely love doing nails. I was doing really well up till about a week or so ago. I was offered a job with a lady who does fantastic work. She is opening a new salon and specalising in 3d art work. Then as quick as she had given me the job she took it away from me. I have done three sets of nails since then and they are absolute crap. I am not sure if this job has knocked my confidence around or whether it is just something that happens when you first start.

What are your thoughts?

people are strange!
Keep moving forward and dont let ANYONE allow you to comprimise yourself...

I couldn't agree more:hug:

Dont let her knock your confidence about. Just tell yourself she doesn't know what she is missing and it's her loss. I am a strong believer in fate and destiny and the reason you didn't get the job is because there is something perfect for you out there that will come along. Had you actually started work? If so there are laws that prevent her from dismissing you for no reason.

I wouldn't feel upset about it but use it as a push to try and become even better so she will regret to have turned you away. I have no idea how your enhancements look and they probably look great but it could be since she is really good herself that she was expecting something that can't be expected from someone that hasn't done nails for many years like she did.

Either way it is her fault. She should have been better aware of the situation before hiring you and on top of that the fact that she knocked your confidence over by being impulsive.

Really hun...don't let it get you down. I think with every nailtech on this forum there has been at least a few bumps on the road when they started out that made them question their skills  It's to those that get over it and push harder that succeed in the end.

big

Dont let the buggers get you down ,I had someone last week said they wanted me and someone else who said she could get me four or five new clients, but when it came to the crunch,it was a different tune.Think Im only going to get excited about things in the future when its actually in my hands, and not hearing it from someone else!

You will have a lot of ups n downs doing nails..think I have more downs in the past two years..lol..but just come on here any time you feel down and Ill promise youll come off of here feeling better.:hug:

Having the job then having it taken away is gonna knock anyones confidence, so don't be hard on yourself. Maybe she was worried that you would be a threat to her and maybe be better than she was, so decided not to hire you in the end.

Try to be positive, which i now will be hard, but use this as a reason to improve your nails and get better. It takes anyone learning nails, around 50 full sets of nails to really to start to get good and confident, plus to be doing nails often, nearly every day to really build up confidence and be able to deal with everything good and bad in this business. Give yourself time and just keep practicing. If it was easy, every tom **** and harry would be doing it.

Thanks for the support guys. I have got a bee in my bonnett about getting my skills down pat and my timing. I will just keep plugging away.
