It took me two years, I had endremetosis and was going for tests, I think if got it into my head I could not get pregnant after two years so my mind switched off and then I got pregnant.
It was great calling to cancel my appointment because I didn't need it anymore :) xx

4 years and currently trying again a couple of months now of trying so can't really say this time. It got to heartbreaking point for us, referred and declined for ivf, we were seeing a specialist for over a year, I did a LOT of things in those four years and I fell pregnant and miscarried the month I got married then fell with my gorgeous now 18month old the following month, please PM me if you want some ideas on what I 'think' worked for us. Keep busy and do things to make you happy Hun.xxxx

I've just read this thread in tears I'm so soppy sometimes. I just wanted to say to everyone trying to keep positive but the main thing is to try not to let it take over your life and focus on the good things in life that you and your partners have together. It took me and my husband 6 years and some quite gruelling Ivf to get our baby twins and I know it's now easy for me to say now I'm sitting pretty but I do know how some of you are feeling. The sheer panic and sadness is overwhelming at times and this is when you need to have a little cry get it all out then pick yourself up and get positive again. We were really lucky but it was a long journey and I really feel for anyone on here in the same boat xxx

18 months with first after taking fertility drug clomid and having reflexology which I swear helped! 3 months for next but had to have a termination due to genetic issues (heartbreaking), 2 months next but miscarried, 2 months next time (all with clomid) and he's now 4. Fell again completely by accident two years ago but had another miscarriage. Feel blessed to have two healthy children. No more for me x

I seem to have the opposite problem! I fell pregnant with my daughter while I was on the pill, then I fell pregnant again with my coil fitted but it was ectopic. It's amazing how many people have told me that when they stopped trying, it just happened! Easier said than done though I know. Good luck!

I'm starting yoga next week and would like some reflexology too.heard it's good x

I've heard acupuncture is supposed to help too!

With my first two we didn't really try it was a case of if it happens it happens but got pregnant on the pill with my 1st and when he was 4months old found out I was pregnant again.
We've now been trying for 10months and I get so upset every month when my period comes :-(

I fell pregnant twice both times by accident, after missing a pill out of the cycle. 1 other time after taking the morning after pill but miscarried.

I can't wait to actually plan and try for a baby like you guys are...it's a beautiful thing to share with the one your love. It may be taking a bit of time for some of you but I'm really hoping everyone gets there in the end. Often it happens when least expecting it.
Good luck to you all!
Xxx

2 months on my first, after being on the pill for quite a few years, then 10 months on my second after being on no contraception, with a chemical pregnancy in between xxx

It took me 6 months, I came off my pill which I had been on for 6 years and I think they say it takes the body 6 months to flush it out. I was worried though because I was only 23 and healthy so took longer than I thought and it consumed my life thinking about it! Good luck to all of you trying

On average about 6 months, ive had 3 misscarriages and 1 successful pregnancy and to conceive with all of them was about 6 months. Then last May I had a ectopic pregnancy and had to have one of my tubes removed, as soon as we could try again I conceievd immediately! So this time I conceieved the quickest I EVER have with only 1 tube! Im now 18 weeks pregnant !

Nearly seven years, and a miscarriage at 15weeks. There is no length of time that is normal.

Oh Chellebelle ,

Bet you have emotionally been up against it!

Did you manage to sucessful have a baby in the end?

Just a bit Hun. Still no baby...
I'm newly married so having a bit of time out and enjoying married life.

For anyone struggling I would highly recommend a session of life coaching. I went from being obsessed and depressed by babies/hospital and broken dreams and I had a session before Xmas and I literally feel like a new woman. It basically re trains your brain to go back to basics and appreciate all the things that you do have rather than the things you don't.

I also sat down with hubby and made a bucket list of all the things we wanted to do in our life (excluding anything baby related) its great to get a new vision and excitement back for life xx

Well I really hope you get there...

I do agree about doing things as you can't put your life on hold...

Have you not looked into IVF?

Yes we have. Long story though. I have pcos and endometriosis and my husband had cancer in one of his tubes so lots of complications along the way.
I'm staying positive and believe if its meant to be(which I think it is) it will happen x
