Hi

Does anyone have any suggestions for bikini waxing very thick hair growth?

I have one client with unbelievably thick hair and loads of it! I always trim but even when it's short it's as if the wax can't get to the skin as there's so much hair there. I've tried strip and non strip and i always use prewax oil.

It takes me three times as long as other clients yet i can't charge her more and i dread her coming. She comes every 3 weeks so she's due this week and it grows so fast i still have to trim every time. I don't have any other clients whose hair grows this fast and this thick. I'm beginning to wonder if she has a hormonal problem but i wouldn't want to suggest that to her.

Any tips to speed things up?

BB

To help you in getting the wax right down to the skin, make sure the skin is held taut when applying the wax.

Other than that you are probably stressing even before this client comes through the door and that in itself will make the job harder because you are already wound up before you start. I know it may sound easy but try to relax.

First of all, get her to come every four weeks, it will make all the difference, believe me.

Also, use hot wax (non strip wax). xx

I totally agree to only use non strip wax. Make sure you hold the skin tight and apply the right pressure to make sure that the wax gets to all the hair you want to remove. hth

as she take s a lot of your time suggest to her she could trim it a bit for you before she comes. a lot of my clients do this anyway, just tel her how much to trim. and hot wax is great as only sticks to hair take your time and relax dont do massive bits to cut your time.

Defo, press really firmly with the non strip wax. I don't occasionaly and the hair can snap off. Really press it into the skin so it gets to the bottom of the hair. Xx

When you look at the hairs on the wax are you seeing many roots.I have a feeling that maybe they are snapping just below the surface and this is why they are growing so quickly and not weakening.

It would be very unusual to need to trim every 3 weeks. Does she have problem hair on any other body parts?

Are you using strip or non-strip? If you are using non-strip, it's ok to wax over the same area more than once.

I know what you mean by dreading her appointment. But try to see it another way, that she is loyal and therefore your bread and butter. I would try to encourage her to come every four weeks, and yes, definitely check the hairs are coming out at the root like Gillian siad.

thanks for all your replies everyone.

I haven't checked the wax strips to see if the hairs have roots on but i will certainly do that this time and i'll try to get her to book her next one for 4 weeks away instead of 3.

I've suggested to her before that she trims it herself but she never does so she must not want to.

You are right, she is loyal and she always tips so she must be pleased with the treatment even if i am not!

I am on Kim's Pontefract intimate waxing course next month so i'm sure that'll help me out (don't want to reveal my name though Kim as these posts are searchable and i'd hate any of my clients to find me complaining about them!!).

thanks
