I'm a base6. Another hairdresser told me to use 7/81 and 9/60 on my root and then 9/7 pastel through ends but I was thinking wont my roots be darker than my ends or will the 9/7 grab to my bleached ends making It even- I normally never have a root tint so I'm a bit scared lol.

with illumina being on the translucent side, keep in mind the 7/81 isn't going to cover/neutralize the warmth as opaque-ly (i made up a word) as CT does.

is it true when doing a global with illumina for the first time you have to take it straight through? my sister usually has kp 5/0 roots with a little 5/77 (shes a natural base 7) and mid lenghts and ends freshened with 5/77 i was waning to use the illumina on her i was just concerned that if i had to take it straight through the roots are going to throw up lighter than the ends. or could i apply /5 to her roots with a little 5/7 then use 5/7 with pastel everywhere else? Am i totally overthinking this or has anyone else any other suggestions as im concerned the /5 is not going to addd enough coverage and depth to her regrowth as what 5/0 kp does. she currently has about 1/2 " of regrowth. or any other cocktail suggestions for darker hair with illumina? thanks my lovelies. xx

Hey geeks bleach clients roots up today and toned with illumina 10/36 pastel min i put it on was a lilac tinge, first time using it and was scared, over all was lovely when blow dryed x

If u use 5/ illumina on the roots with koleston on the ends it's not gonna look as if it's covered (even though it has).
Koleston it very sheer and soft and I designed to look pretty natural.
If you wanted to use illumina you woul have to cleanse the koleston out a bit first as to get an even result.

Playing with the new blondes! On staff

Which shades is this?

Ok only looked briefly so my numbers could be wrong!

Graduated section times with 8:96 (is that the new one? + 6%

Ready of hair 10/69 (again I think my numbers are wrong!) + 8/96 + 6%

Bleach and pastel foils which were then tonned foils with 10/96 illumina glossing mix.

It was a really true ash blonde :) mega shiny too

With illumina what would be a good toner for someone who doesn't want to be too ashy? Thinking along the 8-9 level ,

10/36- you could mix it to bring it down a level? X

Does urs ever turn lilac? Or have i done something wrong?

The 10/36 no but the 9/60 a little bit. Something but nothing that can be seen after blowdry lol

So pierced told me on here to mix 10/1 with 9/60 and it won't go lilac. As only the 9/60 going lilac mean there isn't enough. Tone to neutralise so that's why xx
