I went for a tantrick spray tan today but i can hardly tell the difference and as i thought it was meant to be really good i am bit dissapointed and i was really excited about trying a new tan out as i have only used st tropez but to be honest i might stic with st tropez!!
i was gonna do traing and everything with them too but not so sure now?
PLEASE HELP x

Tantrick can be slow to develop on some people. It takes 24 - 48 hours for tans to show on me, but my husband develops almost instantly!

Give it 24 hours and then if you're not happy, go back to where you had your tan applied and show them. There could be a number of reasons why it hasn't taken.

Yes Tantrick really is that good.
I am guessing as you normally use st tropez that you are normally very dark after having a tan with that,
do you know what % of tantrick was used on you ?
and yes tantrick can take up to 24 hrs to develop but you can usually see a difference after half an hour or so,
did you wear underwear so you have some white bits to compare the rest of your body to ?

I would go and try out a few different brands chuck before you make up your mind, there are loads of good tanning solutions out there!! Sienna X was recently features on Radio 1 and won awards in MArie Claire magazine, and fake bake and Vani T are a few other ones i have heard great things about!!

I don't actually do spray tanning so I can only speak from a consumers point of view, I have tried Sienna X, Fake Bake, Tantrick and Su-Do of these I would say that although they are all good I like to see a result fairly quickly so Feel as though I have had a treatment therefore Sienna X and Su-Do would be my product of choice, but as I say on this one I speak as a consumer not a spray tan specialist

I only used St tropez (mousse and the shimmer spray) I have done about 45 tans with the sienna x 8.5, why a good product very light. I recieved samples of the tantrick, the smell is so nice, they have a summer scent (strawberry) and an autumn (vanilla, I believe) they also sent me two other strenghts, 10 and 12. I went right for the 12 which started to develop with in 30 mins on me. Fantastic - very dark. I will be purchase some solution soon, but will probally upgrade the sienna x 8.5 for the tantrick 10, as my standard but I do think I might need 500ml of the 12 for me. Also I found the level of customer care excellent... and us americans know our customer service (they teach us in kindergarden).

hi there kim!
you came to my salon and my other member of staff tanned you, but you only had it done at 5.30 pm!!! so give it time!!

please let me know how the tan is after 24 to 48 hrs

good things come to those that wait!! lol

i know some other tans are very dark straight away, i think this is sometimes down to how much liquid is actually applied during the tan

please let us know how it is tomorrow x

SU-DU is the one for me and my clients love it , i have used this for 5 years now and only one complaint and that was, the client would like it darker! wouldnt swap it for the world. also i have a few pole dancers come to my salon for spray tans and they love it too.

One thing to look for in a tan is not only the initial colour and how quick it develops, but the actual colour (does it look natural?) and how long does it last or how does it fade (even or does it flake?).

These are just the points concerning the actual tan but if you are also thinking about training with a spraytan company you should also consider what the training involves with different companies and what the customer service is like (before and after training) and what they do to help you to get you started.

Once you have decided what is important for you and your clients you will find it easy to decide on the right spraytan :)

Sienna x for me as well, all my clients love it. I used to use St .Tropez until I got bought some sienna x solution, sprayed myself with a little help from hubby and never looked back, for me and my clients sienna x is a great colour and it lasts really well. I hear their training is also very good as well as their equipment. :)

do some training then you need to try out a load of samples befor you purchase your solution ive tried every solution there is my faves are

1. xen-tan
2- urban tan
3- fake bake.

hope your tan turned out ok in the end it takes 8 hours for it to develop usually maybe the guide colour wasnt as dark as it is when you have your st tropez.

Hi Kim

Hows your tan looking today, dont foget can take up to 48 hours to develop.

What % solution did you have.

Any better than yesterday.

Hmm i can't really answer on spray tanning as i haven't tried them... yet!

But personally as a client i love the fake bake rub in lotion as it feels like a pamper treatment getting exfoliated etc first and i'm a little princess who loves being pampered!

I must go for a tantrick spray myself as i would love to see 1st hand what all the fuss is about just need to find a spare sec x

how far gone are you !!!!

pregnancy hormones to wonderful things to our bodies lol - including the effect of spray tanning.

each company does have there own way of spraying which is unique to them which in itself gives the best possible application of solution to the body.

i dont wipe hands or nails. i apply a little oil onto the nails to prevent the solution adhering to it.

Are you supposed to have a patch test before being spray tanned during pregnancy in case of allergic reaction?

Are you supposed to have a patch test before being spray tanned during pregnancy in case of allergic reaction?

patch tests are not compulsory in the tanning industry - however we do recomend avoiding being sprayed in the first 3 months - however there are clients out there that disregard this completely.

when you are first pregnent your hormones are all over the place and there is no way of knowing how the tan will turn out, it could be patchy, streaky etc. or it could be ok - its all in your dna !!! as they say.

if i have had a client with a allergic reaction i would recommend a patch test and i would put this on the consultation card.

Hi Kim,
glad the tan is developing ...given that you were only sprayed at 5.30 Pm last night  it could well take until later this evening before the tan is developed fully and it really is best to form an opinion once fully developed.
This would apply to any brand as DHA reaction to the skin is different with everone..some react quicker than others who can take over 48 hrs to fully develop:eek:

Different manufacturers all have different attitudes to the way in which they mix product.

Our product has a lower initial colourant than other brands( which simply washes off when you take your first shower) which reduces stickiness on application, rub off on clothing, messing up the work environment and does enable the DHA (that does the tanning) to penetrate the skin more evenly and deeper therefore reduced patch problems,a longer lasting tan and one that fades far more evenly with reduced "cracking effect"

I suspect that the orange hands and thumb are as a result of touching the body whilst the DHA was still relatively near the surface of the skin or not fully developed yet....probably in your sleep.

Certainly being pregnant can,in some cases, cause a tan not to turn out as expected however from what you are saying in that your tan is in fact developing..well..I don't think this is necessarily the case here.

Hoping this helps

i have only a week and 2 days till im due with my baby!!
my hands are a bit patchy!:)

for any new client who has never used the solution before, a patch test should have been done 24 hours before the appointment. my insurance company has told me this and they will not cover me if I have not patch tested new clients. so yeah patch testing doen need to be done for allergies and insurance purposes.
