I have spent a bit of time reading the threads regarding parafin manicures and I like the idea of using a regular wax heater because its a bit smaller and easy to transport.

I have no idea how heat resistant the baggies are but I was wondering could I line my heater with a baggy and place a small amount of wax inside so the client could dip their hands in to the baggy and squish the wax etc in this way?

So in theory the wax only touches the baggy and therefore no need to spoon or ladle wax from the heater in to another bowl.

Will this work or will the baggy melt in the heater?

I think the heater will melt the baggie but have not done this so unsure.

Not sure what these "baggies" are but i wouldn't risk it either even if the bag doesn't melt which it sounds as if it would, there is a risk of your client burning themselves on the sides of the heater. Not worth it.

I'm a trainee too and this is the way I've been tought. Can I ask how quickly the paraffin wax melts in the heater you have got? Sorry to go off a bit but the one I have got takes upto 2 hours!!!

While I was away I visited a spa, and they gave me a paraffin wax manicure, what they did is rip bed roll in strips first, then dipped the strips in the wax and then wrapped them around my hands. I thought this was a lovely way of doing it, as no chance of any burning too. When she finished wrapping she popped my hands in plastic bags. The wraps came off in one piece too.

That sounds like a funky idea, I may have to try it out

It does take quite a while, around an hour and then a few mins to cool down... depends how much you try to melt at once, hth :hug:x
