Well today i got the shock of my life.......... a new client came into the salon and had booked for a removal and full set. After i soaked off her nails (which in a year of getting her nails done she has never ever had a soak off, just a 'pull off") i was totally and utterly shocked and disgusted to see what her natural nails were like. The pic says it all! She has been seeing the same tech for about a year and has NEVER been told that her nails need medical attention and that they are they way her nails grown and there is nothing she can do about it. OMFG!!@!!!! She was none the wiser as she had alway bitten her nails. How the heck can any professional nail tech allow her clients natural nails to be like this. I felt so so sorry for her. I have advised a course of action for her and didnt want to redo them, but she pleaded with me and said that she just cannot go without something on them to cover them, and i cant blame her really. So reluctantly i did them and i am seeing her every 10 days to try and get them sorted and healthy for her again.

Um I could never work out how to put a picture in a post, but could you put it in your album on your profile and we can have a look at it there?

Thanks, just put a before and after pic in my Album in my Profile, hope you can all find it!! Let me know what you think!

Oh and sorry about the quality, i have to take them on my cel phone!

The quality isn't bad for a cell ph! But WOW they are discusting!!! I think she really needs to see a dr! You did a lovely job though, they look really nice in the after photo.

Thanks - yeah i told her thats where is need to go and urgently, so i do hope she does!

Cass....excellent job there! WOW. Agreed she needs a doc too....eek

wow hun very nice work but that lady needs to see a doc her nails are bad me personaly i wouldnt have done her up i would have asked her to see a doc then come back to me there bad

I dont think she needs a doctor because doctors know virtually nothing about nails and will blame the enhancements and say she should never have these demon things done again.

Keep her nails as short as possible - they are a tad long IMO. Get her to use lots of solar oil and have regular maintenance appointments and she should start to see an improvement.

The onycholysis should improve with regular care and the bacterial infection (if it has now been killed) should just grow out.

I agree with Fiona..a doc wouldnt be much help. I would 100% have made these nails alot shorter...the more length there is the more there is too catch and with her natural nails so bad it wont take much to rip the whole thing off.

wow, her natural nails are a mess. I dont think I would have done them for her, but I dont have that much confidence in my work yet and would have erred on the side of caution. You sure did a nice job. Im betting you'll have a long term client there. While I was looking in your album I also had a quick look at your profile and other pics, love your work. Wish you were on this side of the strait.

My god they are really dreadful. I can't believe how good you have made them look, they look amazing but I wouldn't have done them without asking her to see her doctor first because now they are covered and look good, she probably won't go see a doctor because for him to see the state of her nails she will have to soak her artificials off.

When is something going to be done to stop NSS's?

xx

I agree, I don't think I would have been able to handle nails like that! Well done on a lovely set that you did for her!

well done for doing them.i think you've done a fab job and im sure you'll have a client for life now.i also agree about the length but nothing a quick file wont fix.
amazing job, your nails in your album are fab.x

Thanks guys, yes i agree on the length, but she insisted on that length and actually wanted them longer!!!!! eeeek, but talked her into a bit shorter. In actual fact it was a "qualified tech" for about 20 years (apparently) that did her nails, but her work has gone down hill over the last few years as you can see.

She is my new "project" client now and i am determined to get her natural nails looking fab!!

Oh and the reason why i did them for her was that i knew darn well that she would have just gone somewhere else to get them done and prob to a NSS, and at least i knew if i did them then she would come back and i can fix her natural nails for her hopefully!!

Wow you have done a fantastic job ,i cant believe how awfull they where when she came to you she must have been delighted!

I think you have done a fab job with her nails, I just cant believe the state of them before, im in shock!!

Well done hun
