Hi

I'm not naming names of tan solutions etc but I'm thinking of offering a few spray tan solutions on a menu for the client to pick from if you like, over the spring/summer to entice people to have tans.

The products and prices will differ, because the products themselves will differ, but I suppose I am trying to ask if anyone offers a different range of different brands rather than just one?

I would be interested to hear your thoughts on this. Now I am cutting my nose off to spite my face by offering a few or would I be best to stick to one as I have always have?

Thanks

I think by all means offer different brands if you have to meet every skin type but I certainly wouldn't recommend offering different prices for different brands.

I think there is nothing more off-putting than a complicated pricing structure.

Hmm gotta admit mate it could become a bit confusing for clients...but how about you offer the same brand in different %??

I offer 3 different types. I have fake bake, celebrity secrets and coco bay. The younger clients tend to prefer the fake bake. I like celebrity secrets as it's a nice natural colour but some people like to look very brown.I think it's a good idea to have more than one as it gives clients the choice. I know a lot of people like st.tropez but personally i don't like it so if a salon only offered that one then i would go to another salon. Maybe you could get some different samples from people and try them out and ask your clients what they prefer. :)

I used to many moons ago offer 2 different ones,

one that didn't last so well so was cheap and cheerful and then a good one that did last well and cost more,

i found because people had the choice they went for the cheap one but never returned,
so i took the cheap one off the menu and only offered the good one at £25,
i have lots of repeat clients with the good one now, hth

I offer 3 solutions. One, Celebrity Secrets, is my main brand, with a full range of strengths and all aftercare products. I also stock Sienna solutions as I have been asked for them by name and have a couple of clients who really like them (and the Sienna top up spray which comes in very reasonably), and I also stock a specific tan solution for bridal, which is a quite light and has little or no guide colour in it.

I don't differ in price, and if the client doens't show an interest in brands, I usually use CS, but if they want to know I talk them through the options and let them choose with me.

Works well for me, and has earned me an excellent reputation in my area, for offering spray tans tailored to the client as opposed to this one solution suits all attitude that some techs/suppliers take!

I only offer one brand but in three % strengths. I found one I was happy with and just stick to that :green:
