ok so to me they are a bit too short.

also you have to visualize when you place your form, imagine it is like 10cm long, and it still has to be straight, which doesn't seem to be the case here with every finger.

plus to me they look like long almonds, not like stilettos.
imagine a long square nail, the parralels... for your stiletto, the sides have to be straight too, unless the roundish shape makes it look like an almond. it's just a matter of how you hold your file when you ive the final form to your nail.

the apex that we can see on the thumb isn't well-placed, it should be a bit smaller and more on the nail than only on zone 1-2.

this is just what I see for now, but it's quite late so I may have imagined things lol...

also the other thumb seems to be rather thick...
when you sculpt a stiiletto, Russian style like you did, the fact that you pinch (you quite have to, in case you didn't ;)) gives strength to the nail (and NO the more you pinch doesn't make the nail stronger, you just have to pinch it right) and therefore you need no thickness anywhere. we usually go for 2tips in the apex... so you can imagine how thin it remains.

on a side note, I'm not really pleased with the nail art, your painting should be thinner too, and fit with the shape, the nail art and the shape have to compliment each other.

i actually think these are amazing!!!!!

very striking
well done!

thanks for the honest opinion
about the nail art i know it needs to be thinner but this was the first time i did a design like this so i need to practise
about the pinching.... i didn't pinch them so you're rigt about that
the lenght hmmmm i already used the entire form until the end so otherwise i needed to attach 2 forms together
the rest of the comments i will need to look closer to understand every detail
cheers sabrina

I can't see any pics !

I think they look great for your first attempt...
I like the nail art... well done to you for sharing your beautiful work.
Maybe you should post them in the nail art gallery and then other geeks will be able to comment on them for you babe.
xx well done

Sabrina I think you have done an excellent job. As for too short :Scared:'poke your eye out' comes to mind if they were any longer. The problem with Stilleto (a phrase first coined by Creative years ago in 1997 when we did the Gotham Glamour' Collection) is that you do tend to have them very long to acheive the look.

I think your work looks excellent! Well Done!

Art is subjective! So I will say that I lovvvvvvve them! I understand that you were trying to get a critique, though. Have you seen the squaletto? There is always a spin off of someone elses design. Thats what makes it interesting! I love all nail shapes. And even though these are not the traditional stilettos, they are way cooooooool!

I can see them and they look great!!! I don't see anything wrong.

i think that for your 1st attempt they are really good. You are braver then me to attepmt them and the length i like. Your art will come with practie but great 1st attempt hun love them xx

Hi Hun,
I think they are amazing!!!
I could not produce that quality on a 1st attempt.
I feel Doorie is a bit too critical.............knowing they are your 1st set.
I would wear them with pride. Keep going, send us pics of your next set.
Best wishes
Lotsa luv x

thanks for the honest opinions girls
never heard of squaletto's
cheers sabrina

I think these nails are quite stunning by any standards and you should be proud.

@ geeg i am proud to be honest but i know they are not perfect
means a lot to hear you say this
cheers

thanks for the honest opinion
about the nail art i know it needs to be thinner but this was the first time i did a design like this so i need to practise don't worry, you'll be fine very soon!!!
about the pinching.... i didn't pinch them so you're rigt about that again, it's a matter of habit... the more you do them, the better you know what to do and what to avoid ;)
the lenght hmmmm i already used the entire form until the end so otherwise i needed to attach 2 forms together I don't stick 2 forms together, I use the center and stick it at the end, when I use short forms, ie Entity's special. unless you can find very long forms ;) cuz as Mrs Geek said, when it's longer and the sides are straight as it can be, you really achieve the look. maybe later I can upload some that I did in my gallery... if I have the time.
the rest of the comments i will need to look closer to understand every detail
cheers sabrina
