(Other than our Geeg, of course!)

I've been using them for about 6 months and love them! But I can't wrap my head around doing them so quickly. Between prep, putting tips on, applying the poppits, and finishing (filing, etc), I tend to be about an hour. I often apply art before applying the poppit so I know that ups my time a bit, but I can't see how I can speed up.

Not that I particularly mind - an hour(ish) for an appointment is fine for me and my clients are more than happy with their service (judging from the amount of recommendations I've been getting lately) but I can't see what else I can do to speed up. I also admit to doing quite thorough prep, but I don't have any lifting issues with my clients, and a lot of my newer clients tell me how their previous techs "didn't do much of that" and just put the enhancement on right away without prep.

Is this just me?

My Poppit time is around 1 hour too. I always find they need a touch of filing around the edges etc and the prep takes a while, and I use tips too so that adds some time. The actual Poppit application itself I'd say takes around 20 minutes, excluding the prep etc.

PREP takes me abut 10-15 minutes tops (usually 10).
Applying the well-less Performance tips about 5-7 minutes.
Filling and Applying the PopIts about 10 minutes and
finishing about 5 minutes. All in all about 40 minutes.

I don't really want to top that, but I did apply a half set of PopIts in London at the Excel show in 15 minutes during a demo. Those of you who saw them at the finish can post on the conclusion of how well done or not they were.

To be honest the set in my album took me literally 20 min and they were the best set i have done, they looked amazing. I prep and everything but i had to be with a bride for twelve so i literally threw them on. But you no i find when i faff to much they end up being not so good, strange really. mind i did not talk to my client at all in that twenty min lol

I'm not surprised ... who would have time for chat??

You have just exposed the secret .... the less faffing about the better the result; that is normally the fault of the hand made nail artist, they mess about too much with the product in the PopIt instead of letting it do it' THING.

Geeg i think u have just hit the nail on the head, i am so concerned about getting the perfect finish that i make mistake after mistake, and i am so criticall of my work to. But when i do not have time to think and faff the results with everything are brill, so i need to double book and i am laughing lol and i will have perfect sets all the time:):)

Im off to buy some poppits, have tried them did like them, not offering them.....Stupid !!

I've been doing them in 45 mins.

I can't wait until Xmas when everyone will hopefully want nails for Xmas Parties.... Nails and a Spray Tan in an hour?!

People will be lapping them up!

Ring or contact Fiona Wallace in Scotland on 0131 333180 or [email protected]. she is the CND distributor for Scotland and also carries PopIts and runs classes to teach you how to use them well. x

I hope I will be able to see them and get some samples at the Event. I got some of the Edge Freeforms which are used in the same way, but they are totally the wrong shape for 99% of my clients so I'm having difficulty in practicing with them. I did get to see a popit in the flesh the other day and it looks like a much more useable shape so I'd really like to have a go.

Cheers,
Hazel

PopIts are made of a much better more durable material than the other forms and are a sleeker more beautiful shape ... I have not had problems with them fitting the vast majority of the people I have used them on. Copies are never as good as the originals.

It is the usual case of someone trying to profit off someone else's original idea using cheaper materials and inferior design.

Has anyone tried them on toes? I've tried searching the forums but there are so many posts involving popits it's hard to find anything specific

I do not think you would find the widest PopIt wide enough for most big toenails. Otherwise there is no reason why they would not work but the structure of them is too strong for toes in my opinion. Toes do not need an apex nor the c curve that is inherent in PopIts.

Good point - I wasn't really thinking it through before asking the question. I was blinded by that lovely shiny perfect surface without any filing

Well, you can't blame a girl for being distracted by something shiny can you
