PopIts with gel - another discovery

I have been using gel Popits on myself for a little while now but only one colour with polish over the top. I decides to do more experimentation as I wanted a different look.

I use a clear Performance tip and before applying to the nail i applied gel and then glitter to the tip and cured. I then applied all tips to one hand leaving enough bare tip to handle them easily

I applied the usual bonder layer to the prepped nail and cured

Then I applied warm pink opaque gel to zones 2&3 and cured

I then used the Popit with clear gel to do the rest, so no building an apex, or buffing to shape etc. All that remains is to shape the nails

I know Popits are all about speed, but I find that they can be used alongside the more fiddly aspects of a set of nails to great effect - particularly on yourself.

Doh! I am dying to have a look at some pictures of popits with stuff like this... things a bit different. I'd like to get some at some stage but need a little more coaxing.

Gilly, get them. They really are great. I've got a set on, which I've had on for over two weeks and they lok as good as when I put them on. The only problem I've had is bubbles, and I did all the correct things as suggested to avoid them. I've spoken to Wee Fee in Edinburgh and she has given me a tip of making sure you just hold your brush still when picking up the powder, as it could get bubbles this way. Now I normally do this with L+P, but because I wanted a nice big bead I dragged. I'll try this next time and see if I have no bubbles.

Sounds a good idea Adele. Can I just ask - are you trimming the skirt off your popits or leaving them as they are?

I havent tried popits with gel yet but I might just give it a go your way ow. x x x

Hi,
I have used PopIts with white tips and clear L & P. But I have also used them with NSI Glistening Rose, for an all over colour, but to make the underneath extended tip smooth and glossy (cos my natural nails are short) I put a paper form on each of my nails before applying my PopIt. So when form is removed and the PopIt just a quick file, to refine, but underneath is lovely, smooth and glossy.
