I thought, since we have a lot of new members, that it was worth another mention about becoming a Premium Geek

I am more than happy to support this site, the small amount it costs me is miniscule compared to the value I have had, and continue to receive from this site. There are advantages and benefits too:lol:

Worth every penny IMO, I can't imagine there are many other teaching sites that give you an option of paying or not!!! Also, the amount it costs is so small.......

Come on geeks, give something back!

I do often wonder why some people who have been Premium Geeks decide not to be Premium geeks anymore. Is it purely a money thing or is it some kind of disgruntlement (is that a word LOL) or has their passion and "pride" in the site gone for some reason.

Lovely word that - digruntlement, I suspect they stop because they can.

I wonder how people would feel if the site disappeared, I feel it is important to contribute, but that is just my opinion I suppose, others don't care in the same way maybe:confused:

Im a premium geek and always will be!!! This site is...MY BIBLE!!!

XXX

Talking of which, my subscription must be up soon? How do I find out or is it just automatically renewed?

If you click on "control panel" then "paid subscriptions" on the left hand side, it should tell you there

HTHs xx

I know some people don't like using paypal, and if there wa another method of payment they would be premium again in a shot!!!

I always renew, isn't it a professional expense on your tax return

I have to say that I have issues with paypal:irked:
I've had to change my debit card because of them and so at the end of this subscription I won't be able to be a premium geek:cry: I love the site and want to support it but my bank account got into a real mess because of paypal and I won't buy anything that makes me give them access to my bank account again:mad:

I agree! Maybe a monthly reminder would be great. When I first joined, I didn't know what a Premium Geek was.

One day I was reading the posts and there was something about being a PG. I immediately joined. OMG...it is SO worth it! And for those who can't afford it...to me, it's well worth a little over a dollar (US) a week! I've learned more on this site than I ever did in nail school. I'm a premium geek lifer!

I think the site is invaluable....whenever in the past i felt low and needed inspiration ....my fingers would be tapping on the computer to come on here...LOL:lol:

With regards to paypal i have only had one issue in the long past....my card is automatically debited every 3 months....i know it is going to something worthwhile, and maintaining a site takes time money and hard work....:!:

I would never go out with a bunch of pal's without buying a round :)

Me neither!!! Angie mine is a voddy and diet coke!

I may be Scottish and considered tight, but will always subscribe to the salon geek, the education and learning on here is priceless as is the possible friendships that can happen. :)

Maybe Sam could sort it out so we could call cnd and pay an annual subscription to them? That way those of us with paypal issues could continue to support this site?
Pretty pretty please Sam:cry:

This sums it up perfectly to me.

I know this site is very costly to run and I feel it is only the decent thing to do to support it.

I have to be honest I was a P/geek then stopped for a while as I was out of a job as I just couldnt spare it (i am sure some others have been there) if I could I would pay so much more for membership as I love it here but I am a p/geek again and will always be as long as I can afford it. I know that sounds silly as its such a tiny amount but sometimes you need to make a cut wherever you can you know? xxx Love you all prems and non prems!

I was always a premium geek until i had paypal problems. Tbh that has since been resolved. I am not working and we rely solely on my husbands wage,we have a large mortgage and a son to look after as well as a new baby on the way,so for me i spend the money elsewhere. Ok it's minimal but by cancelling things like our lottery subscription, geek, volountary contributions to school etc i've saved over £50 a month, given the current situation it's no something i'll reconsider in thenear future. That said, when i do go back to work and i'm earning and "using" the site for purposes other than checking up on friends and killing 20 mins then i'll give back.

Just from a pov of a geek who WAS a premmie:idea:

I can quite understand these situations and would almost certainly do the same.

This thread was directed at those who maybe don't know or really should know IYKWIM:)

Tbh I am poor but just like I would always give to charity I give back to the site.

I'm having problems with Paypal at the mo, as I discovered when I tried to renew my premium status.:irked: Rest assured I'll be renewing it as soon as I get it sorted.
