Honest opinion???

I don't like any of them because none of them shout out 'nails' to me... I have one of my own photo's on my price list, the same as on my website.

Is this for pricelist handouts or for your website?

I don't think you can beat using a photo of your own work to encourage new business.

Sorry Sarah, but IMO the first pic of the hands covering the breasts just doesn't off show the work that you can do.

Personally, I would have a close up pic of some of your best work that doesn't include any other body parts :wink2:

Hope I've not offended you... I'm sure some of the other Geeks will have different views to mine

Sarah - of it is a price list of beauty/nail treatments then i wouldn't use any of them as I don't think they give the right impression.

I think for something like a price list I would use more conservative photos.

Yeah I thought they might be a bit risky, thats why I thought I'd ask some fellow geeks opnions lol the angels are for angel nails I've never actually seen a price list with someones own work on it, but dunfermline only has 2 actual nail bars so thts probably why xx ps no offence taken sandi xxlol

Be the first one to do it Sarah, make yourself stand out from the others, don't be afraid to show your work off in your printed material :green:

I would have to agree with what is already said. I all for showing skin but there is a time and place. If you want something along those lines have them look classy. The first pic reminds me of a photo Janet Jackson did way back. Let your work sell its self.

I'd have a pic of nails or a single nail you have done..

The pic with the ****s is the same as a huge campaign a couple of years ago for La Senza. - doesn't scream nail tech though and if word gets out it's you, you might have to change your phone number!

xxx

If you use the one with the ****s you are going to get 8 million perverts ringing you:lol::eek:
Crop it so the nails are more on show or take some pics of your work that show what you can do hun x

Sarah sorry but I would agree with everyone, TBH I didn't notice the nails in the first pic!!! iykwim, not really giving the right signals out babe xx

I can honestly say i wasn't looking at the nails (green eyed monster lol)
i always use images of my own work on every thing,
i have a big screen advert in my local hospital A&E waiting room with my own work and i am having an advert put in the Chinese menu (4 doors away from me) with my own work on it,
stick to nails for your price lists and get your puppies out when needed for your other job lol

Im sorry hun, but on the first picture i didnt even notice the nails....Infact I didnt even click to enlarge..as it would personally make me feel uncomfortable looking....as it may with lots of other people ,
It just says ****S to me and not nails at all :)

I like the 3rd one...it says nails more to me than the others,...as at least the lady in the pic has her hands pointed outwards ....

xxxxx

I don't care for any of them much but I guess No 3 is the best if I was pushed to choose. What does it say about nails though?

No 1 is definitely the wrong image imo, you will alienate a good proportion of your target market who will feel put off and possibly offended (especially the older clientele, and they make up about 50% of my clients). I didn't notice the nails on that piccie either.

I have several little pics of my own work on my literature. Much better to show off the nails that you can do imo.

didn't like any of them neither. I too didn't realise the first one was advertising nails just saw the ****s. Think of who is going to ring you after seeing that pic, a middle-age mother of 3? a perve? a yuppie?

the other 2 are a bit tacky too. I appreciate that you want to stamp your personality on your advertising, and it will grab attention, but I think that you can do it much much better, perhaps not so aggressive? I personally would be too intimidated to ring for an appointment.

I don't like it either...sorry.

You want class...style...proffesional...informative and clear.

There are no rules to say you have to have a picture at all....a nice logo around your business name is classy...play with the letters of your business name...look at some logo's on goggle to get some ideas.

Think about who you are trying to target...??? not necessarily what YOU think looks nice.

Thanks for the replys ladies I seriously did'nt think that it might alienate clients a bit risky but that probably because my other job is glamour modelling so I thought it was quite conservative lol but I'm glad I posted the pictures to get all of your opnions and input. I'll go away and re think thanks xx

I'm sure you'll hit on a good one that encompasses your personality with quirkiness, SOH, and get the message across.

please post it when you find it.

I would not use any of them on price lists or website but if zoomed in more and cropped a bit, I think the first one would be ok in a portfolio that you personnally show people (not for public display though).

For me not using the first pic wasn't about being conservative (Some beauty campaigns cut it closer - see prev thread on the Sienna "make it moist" ad)

Part of it is because it's you in the pic and it's your services you are offering.

Perhaps if it the pic was actually of the nails in focus and there wasn't part of the nip showing - it may work with correct wording - 17-25 appeal...
But... I find most of my repeat clients are 26-55 - you may alienate these.
I'm 27 - not prudish, not shocked, but the picture wouldn't make me call and book if i saw it - just because i wouldn't immediatley start thinking "beatiful nails, i want them done". (which an advert is supposed to do).

The second & third pics are like hentai pictures (japanese cartoon porn) Which again do not scream nails.

Make it an eye catching, simple picture which, when you look at it you think "lovely nails" not "cracking juggs".

Kudos on the modelling though. Takes some bottle! xxx
