I am new to this site. I hope you can see my pictures. I've been doing lashes for about 4 months, no official training other than watching youtube videos and practicing on friends. At first, I made plenty of mistakes that I probably would not have made if I had taken a professional training course. I am looking for a course to take that is affordable, and will take me to the next level. Any criticism, advice, or helpful hints would be welcome! : )

I actually don't know where to start.

Firstly what is the second picture of? Because it appears this client/friend has lost lashes and has broken lashes

I'd hazard a guess and say that could be to bad isolation, lashes that are too heavy/long, too much glue, clumping, picking... I could go on.

At a first look without clickin on the picture your first photo looked messy. But ok! After clicking on it I would say

You haven't added enough lashes
Not all appear isolated
There's too much glue
The shape doesn't appear entirely even
The lashes you have used look thick but that may be to the amount of glue

It's not the worst effort but I have to tell you I would not be happy left with the second photo.

You really need to do some training if you want to continue. YouTube cannot possibly provide you with the knowledge you need too create a set without in someway damaging the lashes.

My advice aside from what I've pointed out is to train.

Sorry if you feel this is harsh but it takes 90 days approx for your lashes to renew and regrow if you lose/break them. You could train an practice and be completing better sets in less time than the girls lashes will look decent :-(

Hi hun welcome to the site :)
Glad you are looking into training.
Have you been doing these lashes on paying clients? XxX

I hope the girls who know me from this site will know that I am passionate about lashing and try to be generous with my advice.

Some posts on this thread have left me quite speechless.

We have to remember this is a professional forum and I personally will not be sharing advice with those who have watched some youtube videos.

I have spent a LOT of time and money in learning my skill.

I would suggest anyone who wants to learn to lash does the same.

You always are. Wonderful advice and lovely with it.

I wasn't giving advice. I was pointing out what was wrong. Hopefully that came across

That wasn't aimed at you my lovely. Sorry if it came across like that.

I was just posting my own opinion xx

Lol. I started typing in shock and it ran away with me x

I don't do lashes and one of the reasons a lot can go wrong! I've read on here a couple of times about clients in A&E and help and these girls are trained with insurance. Please get the training needed before you go and do clients as it would be horrendous if something happened x

Hi MerleGirl, You say your a lash extension specialist on your profile, with out sounding rude.. how long have you been doing lashes & were did you get your qualification?

I'm sorry to say (& please forgive if this sounds rude) but if I went to someone who claimed to be a lash extension specialist, I'd be pretty bummed if I left with these.

you need lots more practise before you say your a specialist. Also if your qualified, then this site is excellent for information. I agree with all the info proper princess gave you about the faults in your lashing. Too much glue used, it doesn't look like they've been isolated thoroughly, not enough lashes etc.. hopefully you'll see I'm not being mean just trying to help, I'm no expert myself far from it, but like to add my 2 cents worth if I feel it'd be useful too you. x

I did some purple lashes today - whatcha think?!

Tashy, i think your getting on fab with your lashing. I'd be really happy with these if I were your client. you havent even been doing lashes long! you should be really pleased with yourself chick. x

Someone has edited the post! Because in another thread that person was claiming to be an experienced lash tech & and was looking for fast drying glue :what:
