Yes, I am fully licensed and have liability insurance. To explain: This girl, Mandy, came in yesterday (Saturday) without an appt. asking for a "fill" after 6+ weeks of wearing extensions. She had pulled some off herself that were "hanging", and lost lashes due to that. I did not have time for a full set, but I couldn't let her walk around like that (so I did a partial/half set). I had originally put a combination of .15 and .20, but she wanted thicker so that it would look more dramatic. So I put .25. I agree, they are thick, and she needs to be filled now with .15 and .20. Please note, I didn't mean to offend anyone. I was being upfront, and honest, and asking for advice.

Ok well I'll be upfront! How do you have insurance covering you for a treatment you are not trained in?

I'm not going to tell you how to give a thicker effect but I can tell u it's not using 0.25!

On another thread you were discussing using 0.30. I'd never put them on anyone. But that's my preference and opinion. Based on the clients safety. They are too heavy! Damage lashes.

You have not been upfront and honest. Your profile states you a professional lashe extensionist. This isn't true is it? No!

I'm glad you only had time for half a set. Because that means only half her lashes are under pressure and threat of damage. Although due to your lack of professional and competent lash isolation I fear her lashes will be damaged.

A lot of us have said it... But I shall reiterate. Please do some training. Put your clients health, safety and beauty first! Not a quick buck!

Wow, that hurts. OK, well, you asked how do I have insurance? I own 2 day spas, and my insurance, through State Farm, covers my business AND my personal liabilities as a licensed Aesthetician. In my state, a licensed Aestheticians and Cosmetologists are allowed to perform lash extensions. You do not have to have a "certificate" from a one day course to be insured. All legal Aesthetic services are insured under the same umbrella. Second, my friend was VERY pleased with her lashes, and I am VERY careful about safety. Third, on the other thread you were referring to, I simply asked if anyone had an opinion about .30, not that I have ever used them or was endorsing them. I just noticed a company was selling them. Last, yes, I have been totally honest, and have never said I had was certified by anyone. In fact, I said I was "not certified" yet and was looking to for information on what company would be best. I don't deserve such accusations, and I am offended and hurt. I thought this site was for professionals (yes, I'm a licensed professional) who wanted to help each other. I didn't know I would practically be crucified for being upfront and honest, asking for criticism, helpful tips, and information.

You can beat around the bush any way you like but fact is your not qualified.

It's great that your friends happy. But I've a feeling if elliebee or blinking or even myself did her lashes she would not return to you for any other reason than loyalty. I'm sorry of your Hurt and offended but I'm offended your asking us to provide you with the information and advice to provide a better service in something we paid money to train in and you have a go at. This is a professional forum, but in this specific field your amateur, at best. Sorry but I'm not accusing you of that. You have admitted you are not qualified. So it's a fact!

Your profile states lash specialist. That's misleading.

I shan't continue to debate over this any longer. You say your happy and your friend is. I told you what I thought of your lashes. In fact I was kind enough to tell you where your going wrong. I have nothing else to say except... Get qualified. Thank you x

Im going to explain why the qualified lash techs on this site are offended by your posts.

Over here, we have to be qualified to carry out this skill, and yes, it is a skill that takes months of practice. I am a trainer and I also do mentoring by the hour. The majority of my students are lash techs are people who are unable to achieve the look they desire or, and unfortunately this is the majority, have had bad training. They are often paying out not once but twice for training in this very difficult art.

For yourself to post pics as an untrained lash tech has offended the people who have paid significant amounts of money. Unfortunately they dont want to share their knowledge with you as you arent qualified. If you were qualified I am sure you would find a wealth of information coming your way.

The second picture, you should have removed completely, removing the clumps of glue and cleaning the lashes before attempting to re-apply. The first picture is clear to see that isolation is missing and although your friend was happy with the over all look, you have compromised her natural lash growth.

I hope you understand that we are generally a loving group, it is purely the fact that you havent qualified in this skill and openly admit that you tried to learn via youtube, unfortunately, this offends.

Seek some good training, not a cheap one day course with your cert at the end of the day, a course where you either have to do case studies or an assessment a week later. Ensure you can contact your trainer for any queries you may have after training. Work hard on isolating and practice practice practice.

I hope this has given you a bit more of an understanding to the replies that you received.

Like I said I don't do lashes but often look on here at the amazing work, I do gel nails by bio and I no if someone posted on the nail forum they trained themselves in bio sculpture but tell me what you learnt I would feel disheartened!
As I put time and money into learning and getting to the standard where I was happy enough to let lose on the public.
You must see it kind of looks cheeky, almost like your Que. Jumping, and people are thinking what's so special about you, why should you not put in the work we have? X
Anyway just think if you go on a course with all your practice how good you can be :) x x

Ruby, after seeing your work on here time & time again, with out a doubt you could pull a set of lashes of just as good as these! Xx

Ladies, your eyelashes are all so beautiful. Iv got my training next week! I'm so excited and cannot wait. My kit has patiently been sitting ony table and Iv been so tempted to have a play. But wouldn't know where to start and don't want to look on YouTube to pick up bad habits!

I'll be posting a pic of my first set soon enough but would be great ful if you lashsperts would tell me what you think and where I could improve etc.

I am slightly worried as I have been known to have a bit of OCD. A d wonder if I'll b doing one set of lashes for 6 hours haha. Thanks for all the great aspiration to live up to! Xx

Every lash technician starts as a trainee and I don't know anyone that has produced a perfect set of lashes straight off. For every set of lashes you apply you will see an improvement which is why Flirties ask our trainees to complete case studies, as a trainer I'm Always available to answer questions and help wherever possible even long after training. Rhimnisty (sp?) you will love lashing but as already been said practice practice practice this is the key to becoming a master lasher. There are lots of lashers in this forum with such huge potential and that what makes it a great place to learn. You also need a passion for what you do and for me my passion is lashes this is reflected in my loyal client base and those fighting for limited appts.

I'm sure you will be fab just relax and don't put yourself under pressure it's a skill you will learn that even the best of us learn new things all the time. xxx

They are a pain in the num as they split in half so be careful taking them out. I do like them sometimes. Sometimes they can look a bit unnatural x

I don't know if you remember Pprincess but that lady who moaned about my eyelashes months back? Well it was her Mother in law actually.

I did the complimentary set on her with my different products and she comes back every 3 weeks or so for her lash maintenance.
Just shows you hey?!

D curl 9mm-12mm
Honest opinions please :)
