I'm due to start mt beauty studio within the gym real soon and I'm not convinced facials will be a big hit especially being as its predominently a male gym at present, but because the gym wants to encourage more females in with the help of me being there, I need to have facials on the list.

So to keep cost down I was thinking of having either Skin Truth or Solutions facial products from the Beauty Express warehouse for the interim to see how many facials I can get in then hopefully if they are successfully increasing in clientele then I want to change to Dermalogica, but at the moment I cant justify spending their set up costs, any suggestions would be gratefully received.

can you not get an inbetween of skin truth and dermalogica as there both two extremes skin truth is generally cheap college training products where dermalogica has huge set up costs for someone just starting out, personally i would not use skin truth i would look for something a bit more upmarket, there are threads on here about skin care ranges that are profession yet dont cost the earth a few that come to mind are
algologie
swis dermyl
eve taylor
moor spa

good luck with your choosing and hopefiully you will find a happy medium

noooooooo dont do it :green:, use a better make hun it will pay in the long run , use one of the above brands, skin truth is very basic

Dibi do a lovely range, lots of choice, not pushy and great products. they let you order as much or as little as you like. if you want contact details, please pm me.

Thanks for your comments they are really appreciated. I've requested details for the above companies, the problem I have is that the gym is predominently a male gym and I am not sure how much want for facials there will be and I've only got a small amount of money left from the loan remaining.

I would really love Dermalogica (in the end) but I thought if I got a 'normal' brand in for the interum period as my female clients (and male clients) request more from facials and hopefully I'm bringing in money from the other treatments then I can justify the Dermalogica account - what do you think?

Am I doing it all wrong? At this present moment I feel like not offering facials because I can't make my mind up but then would this lose me custom by not having this option of treatment on?

I know what you mean. I use Strictly professional products at the moment and all my client are very happy with their facials and the range is quite cheap and can be bought from Capital but i did want Dermalogica too but wasn't prepared to pay £3000 start uo fee ( i just don't have it) anyway for now i like it but i may try Eve Taylor as i've heasrd lots of gr8 comments from people about the range.

Yeah Eve Taylor does sound like a good company and products etc but I just don't think they are suitable for my potential male clients especially retailing to them - have you seen their packaging??

Oh I just don't know what to do.
I might just get Solutions products and then play it by ear, at least then I'll have some products if I do get a facial requested and if they become more popular then it would be beneficial getting an extension on my loan as long as the bank can see I'm earning too.

There is nothing wrong with Eve-Taylor's packaging for guy's hun. It's plain and simple and looks professional at the same time.
My advise is start as you mean to go on. Use crappy products and you will end up with no clients.
Eve-Taylor is a fantastic company. There are no start up costs and if you only wanted to get a small amount of products incase you dont end up using them, then they do 50ml for very very cheap. xxx
