Hi Guys,
I am really sorry i bet you hear this all the time but I am a stylist with 17 years experiance and am now feeling i would love to branch into the nail industry but want the best training i can get as with hair i am sure there is sooo much too learn and it is all based on the training you seek out, can anybody please advise as i wish to travel with this vocation ,so would like to learn a system that would be world recognised and well respected in the industry i know a girl working with Tammy Taylor and she really rates this system and the Nail Tech in my salon is all NSI there is just too much choice HELP!!!!!!!! thanks

If i was you i would go by reputation....read up on as many companies as you can and ring them all for training info.

I trained with Creative and it was top class...i have never regretted my choice

Thanks for that honey, is this the company people refer too as CND i live in scotland would they have a place up here have been reading loads some people say some systems are not recognised and you wont get insurance abroad or here i am havin a meltdown ha ha ....,xxxxx

Yes its CND and all of the training they offer is 100% recognised and insurance wouldn't be a problem at all....I am 99% sure that they have CND ambassadors in Scotland but you might be best to ring Sweet Squared for the facts. HTH x

I know I may sound like a bit of a broken record, but as I have said many times before, there are other companies out there that have 100% reputation in both training and support.

To get the best advice or training, I would recommend for you to look at a number of the perceived "top" companies which have all of the above. Believe it or not, CND is only one product, so my advice - for what it's worth - shop around, as there are others out there. I did the same, and have used most products and have now settled with my preferred product.

I understand that everyone has their own favourite so again, to reiterate, I think it only fair to give a response which I think is one that is fair to all the organisations out there. If you do the research - i.e. call the companies and ask for the training portfolio, you will (hopefully) make the choice which is best for you - and that is the important part - it's got to be right for YOU.

The other companies I would suggest you contact are Young Nails (no surprise there :)), EZ Flow and NSI - all of which have a very good reputation in the training, support and customer service. Of course, this is just my opinion - but then again, that's what this site is for isn't it - passing opinions !! :)

This may appear like a bit of a rant - it's not - however it just irks me that the most important things that is omitted from advising on the selection for the student is the fact that there is opportunites for them to do their homework and check out the range of companies out there. Some will say that theirs is better than others - of course they will - but it's important to give a more rounded view to ensure that the STUDENT has the correct information and makes the right choice for THEMSELVES.

I'll be ducking my head now...:)

CND have fab educators in Scotland, Fiona Wallace is one of them and can be found here on this site,
head office number for CND 0845 210 6060 hth

As we´ve discussed this topic before, I agree with Sparklybits here.
When anyone asks questions like "what is the best product/education" most of the answers will very likely include the acronym CND in it. ;)
That is merely because there are so many happy CND users here, so naturally they recommend that. But as stated earlier, that by no means should be understood as the only option!

Indeed there are several excellent brands, products and education providers available, and one should try and find the one that best suits them at the time. Luckily many brands offer conversion courses, so one can always try new products if they feel they want to try another brand - or maybe just to expand their knowledge and variety of products offered to clients.

I myself was educated with brand A which was fine. Now I am converting to brand B as I have so much good experience and recommendations, and feel I need to update my knowledge and try a different product. And later this year I am planning on attending to educate myself with brand C to try a whole other method of creating enhancements.

What was my point again? Yeah, well I´m a CND girl now, and as much as I love it, I also recommend trying to find The One [brand] that does it just for You. :green:

I know I may sound like a bit of a broken record, but as I have said many times before, there are other companies out there that have 100% reputation in both training and support. I agree but if people don't post about them and their experiences then what can we do....??? I personally can only give my own experiences and reccomendations...are CND users to keep quiet until users of XYZ decide to reply...?

Believe it or not, CND is only one product, so my advice - for what it's worth - shop around, as there are others out there. So list them...maybe this poster has no idea who the "top" companies are...and if so how can she look them up...?

Just because you have added another company name in there doesn't make your reply any different to mine...you still included what YOUR chosen company is...

We can all type a list of companies for the thread starter but i am sure she would rather have real opinions from people who have actually used the compnay/products....and i cant give any opinions of ez flow..NSI etc as i have never been trained by them.

Just for info - I have used a number of products including those mentioned in my post as well as some others, but rather than list them all i mentioned a few inc my own but this was not to sway opinion or force those companies on to anyone.Yes I mentioned YN but also EZ Flow for example have excellent educators whilst NSI have a vast product range - and CND have a good name - so what I wanted to do was show a cross section - and it is this reason that my post differs from yours

I have used a few different brands...but only been trained by 1...and as it was training that she asked about it was all i could give...me thinks you have had too much training...and just showing off.......you wait till there is a "what gel thread"...i'll have ya pants down...

LMAO cant wait for that one. And you know what they say you can never get enough education lolI can help it if I am a sucker for a class lol

Now look what you've done:green:
You see we are all so passionate about what we do:smack:
Right, top brands and top training
CND NSI OPI Young Nails LeChat Ezflow come on ladies who have I missed?
Take the time and ring them all
Have a good chat with them all, and see who YOU get on with, I say this because you are going to have a long relationship with whom ever you train with. You'll do your foundation course, get a bit of experience and then you'll be back, because you will have more things you want to learn, it goes on and on.
Your trainers become your friends or should do, you should feel comfortable about calling them up and saying, how do I do this? What should I do about that? And your trainer should be happy to talk to you.
Questions to ask,
Does your company do its own R&D? If it doesn't, well I wouldn't bother with them because to me that means they are using someone elses R&D and I'd sooner get my products from the source.
What does my training include.
What does my training product pack include.
What do I have to buy extra.
What other courses do you cover
How high can I go with my training with this company.
Who will insure me when I complete my training. That should be all the insurance companies, if it doesn't, don't bother with them.
I'm sure others can add to this list.

I'm not saying that this company are the best but they certainly are good and there products are good! my old nail tech tutor was fab! as in like comps n stuff n she used nsi and it's not really that exspensive. .

So company i'm talking about r NSI

As you are in Glasgow, there is quite a bit of training available in your area. I can only go with what training I have done and I have to say after training with a couple of companies, the best training I have had is with CND, I have received superb support and the training itself is second to none. I conerted to Creative in I think it was the end of August last year and now and almost finished my masters and have been given the encouragement from my educator, Wee Fee to compete!

The CND training centre is in Edinburgh, you could call Heather on 0131 333 3180 and she will send you out all the info.

As Sparklybits says it's good to get all the relevant information before you make a choice, but just thought I would let you know my experience. Best of luck with what you decide.

Totally agree with Susie, good post. Just do as much research as you can about each.
For me, CND all the way :) xx

Well I have TRAINED with several and road tested (fairly) a good few products over8 yrs and now am an educator myself so I want to give my students the best start which I didnt ness have.
I wont go into my history as you can read my profile and see for yourself but years ago I was fortunately to receive some free workshops, demo's and seminars from some of the top nail names at trade shows. These little snippits put me on the road to wanting to know as much as I could and get as good as I could.
Without a doubt the education programme at CND is Amazing, Ambassadors are the elite of the industry and then go onto a severe bootcamp. Not only are they tested on nail knowledge but personalities traits too. CND has a clear hireachy and encourages you to move up and you could never want to be more inspired.
It's very hard not to be biased about the company when I know for a fact that I would be stagnate if I wasnt with them.

I teach with Young Nails, they are a fantastic company with a great ethic and have great products that I can easily teach to newbies. They have great glitters and colours and produce amazing art work. Even tho I love the girls to bits I find the structure not a patch on CND and there is no real reason to return aft completing your certs.

I will forever be in debt to Amanda Rainsford-Jones from NSI as that is where my training began (she helped me so much in those days) but for me the products lack a little something.

I just want to add that it really is the person who trains you as mentioned above - if that person is givng what you are looking for you will learn. I want as much info as poss so therefore CND are for me, some techs just want the basics so a one day course will sound brill to them.

i second that, it will eventually come down to training,
i trained at the Carlton institute
then did an Entity conversion
but the person i would like to give credit to most was none other than Sam Biddle,
i was lucky enough to do an
Ezflow HD conversion with Sam this year and learnt an amazing amount more with her, and she gave me the confidence to believe that i was not as bad as i thought , she gave inspiration and without her i think i would have given up x:hug:
