Hi

I've done a few practice spray tans this week before i start advertising and charging.

I've seen people offering a top up tan withing so many days of doing a spray tan.

If i got one of my girls that had a spray tan back next week could i do a lotion tan as a top up? This is more just for me to practice a lotion tan as i've not done one for so long and to save my spray solution till i start charging.

Thanks :)

I wouldnt use the lotion hun top up tans are actually sprayed on aswell and never using top up lotion. The lotion is for your client to buy if she wants to top up her own way at home, but it would never have the same affect as a top up spray tan

Ok.......... so what's the difference between a top up tan and a regular tan?
Be gentle with me, you know I'm learning:) Some one comes to you for a tan. You spray them, and they hopefully love it and you book them in for their next tan, suggesting that they buy some moisturizer, exfoliater etc so where does a top up tan come into this? I thought that your client's next appointment was their top up. What am I missing:smack:

We usually offer a top up tan (spray) when the client returns within 7 days at a reduced rate,
this is to encourage them to come back quicker and save them a bit of money,
this is only offered the once, so if they have a tan on the 1st of the month they would then return for a top up tan at a reduced rate on the 8th,

then the cycle begins again, they come for a tan at regular price and have the opportunity to return in 7 days for the top up at a reduced rate,

the application is exactly the same, hth

Regular tan would be if the client comes to you and hasnt either come before or havent been in a while and they have their tan and within 7 days there tan has faded i.e not dark enough for them then this would be their top up tan usually charging less than a regular tan.

Clients do usually get the choice if they want to purchase the tan extender cream this wouldnt have the same affects as a top up spray tan.

Im a little confused here Carron as to why you would want to do a lotion top up tan option when you are trying to promote and develop a spray tan business....and its so much longer to apply.

On the whole top up tan thing there are differing opinions on this service....some go for it whilst others don't.

Its very much a service option that is one that is made on how you wish to operate your business.

Personally I would adopt a completely flexible approach to this....if a customer asks for a regular cycle of tan then a top up well what the heck ..let them have it.

Likewise if I had a customer that I felt would benefit from this program I would suggest it.

Good luck with whichever route you go..its your call

hi collin

i've got a litre of lotion so thought i'd use that up since i'm on practice mode and to refresh my memory on how the lotion tan is applied

i went to see my 3rd tan girl this morning and she was looking great. :) i'm very happy about this. even her knees and elbows looked good - theres something i thought i'd never say

so going to start getting flyers out and supplies in. i'm away on holidayfor 3 weeks so hope to get started when i come back. already the word is speading and theres 3 very tanned and healthy looking girls walking about the island
