Hi there

I've just been out to client to do bikini wax. She hadn't trimmed and her hair was quite long. I did trim them but when I was applying the roller she said it was really sore - pulling her hair. This is the first bikini wax since changing from pot to roller system although have done a man's leg's and he said same. It seemed to help turning up heat so wax was runnier but this didn't make a difference tonight (I could hardly hold the cartridge it was so hot although client said temp was fine).

I use tea-tree wax cartridges.

Any advice?! There must be a way to do this without hurting the clients by pulling their hair!?!?!?

REALLY don't want to have to used wax pot as I'm mobile and have been finding the roller system brill being mobile (mostly facial waxing since moving to this system and it's been great for that?!)

Thanks
Lou x

I use roller & pot/spatula but must admit I don't tend to use the roller for bikini as I think it's not so good for that.

Just a thought - are you supporting the skin as you move the roller as that can feel very uncomfortable if you don't do that? (ie if you were rolling down the calf from knee to ankle , you would need to have one hand holding the skin firm just under the knee)

You said the hair was quite long, maybe it was a little too long?

Try trimming it before waxing, you may find it easier and it possibly may be a little less uncomfortable for the client?

Just a first thought that popped into my head! xx

Before you start to roll on to the skin you need to tip the roller upside down and watch for 2 air bubbles to rise,
when you have seen these 2 bubbles the roller is ready to use and the wax will roll on freely and quickly,
if you do not wait for the 2 bubbles the wax will not roll freely and this is what causes the dragging hth

I wouldn't use cartridges for Bikinis either, too many contours. A pot of strip wax would be much more effective. I've done some mobile and found that heating up the pot on the way to the client made it simple. By the time I set up my bed etc the wax was perfect. Get yourself one of those power supplies that plug into your cigarette lighter, works a treat.

That's why I never use a roller system, as 98% of my clients are male and this is exactly what happens. xxx

I'm a huge fan of my roller system & it's just a case of making sure the wax is hot enough - you can wrap a wax strip around the cartridge to protect your fingers.

As already mentioned, make sure the cartridges are held upside down long enough & that there's enough wax in there.

Hiya I use clean & easy roller wax, I find if the wax is a little runner it glides across the skin betteR, I use the mid sized roller. Do you have a thermo sleave with yours?
