Hi everyone - i'm fairly new to this site. I have a male customer coming tomorrow for a chest wax. I've done male back before and my husbands chest but he was easy as I wouldnt let him complain :D ! I'm confident but just wondering if there are any great tips anyone can offer me? Also where would you say the chest ends and the abdomen starts - i'm thinking just below the rib cage or is that too low??

Many thanks
Sara

she hav a vid called the whole ball of wax... brilliant .she loans . very helpfull lori the ladi in video uses a hot and warm wax as i do. but she showes how to section..
1. chest. hot wax down the centre from nape to belly button. in 2 sections and not ripped off as a whole whooosh!!
2. the line from hip belly button hip to belly button . again hot wax.
3 warm wax in the sections as you have hair free area to now hold strip so dont get sticky,,,, and ur not fiddlin with trying to get into concaves with the strip.

Check out Jason's tutorial, also make sure you trim down the hair first if it is too long. I always clipper down to a grade 2.

Thanks Jason - studying them now! Great help thank you!

THank you - I intended to clipper if it was long (which he said it was on the phone) and wasn't sure of the grade to go to so thats helped alot. I'm studying Jason's stuff as we speak!

My friend lent me her hubby to practise on. He said the most painful bit was down the middle vertical bit and around the clavicals. I was surprised that he didn't find the area round the nipples painful at all - I know everyone is different but is this the norm generally? My client has never waxed before - only had ago himself and so i'd like to fore-warn him which areas are likely be the most painful.

He had alot of hair all over and I went down as far as his belly button. I trimmed it first to grade 2 but found that it was still a bit long so will probably go to a 1 on the client.

Thanks again for the tutorials - it was mega helpful!

Good idea on the practice model! I ask how they're getting on for comfort too! Thinking about it, I'd say that the central upper chest is the most challenging for most, usually from sternum up and down. Make sure the skin is stretched - get the customer to help if necessary. Ensure plenty of firm pressure on the waxed bit - literally the same second you take the strip off - and this will help.

If customer is really suffering, a cold damp flannel in addition to pressure could help.

I wouldn't advise clippering down to GR1 (3mm) - you might find that it's too short for your wax - or that that if he as swirly bits - they lie flat against the skin.

Let us know how you get on!

Good luck with your client today Sara. Don't worry too much about where it starts and ends as people have such differing growth patterns. He may not have a hairy abdomen, or there may be a very distinct break between the chest and the abdomen hair. Or if he is hairy all the way down he may want the abdomen doing as well as the chest. IF he finds it really painful, as the chest can be, don't let it knock your confidence. First timers generally either have a stiff upper lip or whine their heads off. If he does the latter it is not necessarily anything you've done!

Thanks Guys. My friends hubby just text me and his skin is quite blotchy this morning but not itchy or raised. Is this something that can happen for a first timer who's very hairy or did I do something wrong? Its a fairly new pot of wax but should I change it do you think?
