Hi everyone

I posted my problem a while ago and still having the same old problems, even though I am drinking 2L water a day!

Just a quick question though.

I know spots/acne on the chin and jaw area are hormonal? Please can someone tell me what they mean when they appear on the forehead? cheeks? nose? and how I can help to stop them appearing or if they do appear how I can get rid quickly?

THANK YOU

These are the areas that have more sebaceous glands and therefore more prone to acne/blockages. Drinking plenty of water is great but will not work in isolation. Go to a proper skin specialist and get advice on products and caring for your skin. Note when they get worse - pre menstrual cycle, stress, eating certain foods, using poor quality cosmetics. A holistic approach is usually the best way to go.:)

Hi hun,

I have recently been having problems with my skin for about the last 6-8 weeks, tried everything but nothing wasn't touching it and it was starting to really get me down as i normally have quite good skin so eventually i went to the docs and she said it was acne i was suffering from and recommended i got a cream over the counter call Quinoderm. I use it 2 timnes a day and 2 weeks on my skin is sooo much better! Not expensive, £2-£3 for a tube.

It's worthwhile noting that Quinoderm has some unpleasant side effects like redness, dryness and irritation, and it can bleach fabrics and hair.
Don't use it on rosacea patches either!

I get the same problem. Always that time of the month as well. I can go AGES with clear skin and all of a sudden it's like an army of bumps have invaded my face! I've found Dermalogica works well with my skin, I wash with Special Cleansing Gel (Used to use Anti-Bac Skin wash can't seem to get hold of it?) and Gentle Cream Exfoliant three times a week, and Active Moist morning and night. It clears it up in a treat after a week or so. I've tried quite a few brands, expensive and cheap, and most irritate more. I've found Dermalogica works the best. Might be worth trying?

I get spot's time of the month, it affect's my neck, jaw line and cheeks. I have never had clear skin but I had been having microdermabrasion and it's been brilliant. So now I have clear skin but I still get a few around the time of month. They are big bump's that go down after a week.

I don't know if this is just me but your hair, if it's on your face doesn't help.

This is true, these were all explained by the doctor and she recommended if i didn't get on with it to stop using it. Thankfully, it was fine and my skin is probably better than it was before! :)

Forehead they say represents digestion, cheeks represent lungs and nose represents your heart.

You can interpret it in different ways, so have you been eating not so well recently? Perhaps you have a slight allergy to a certain food you're eating seeing as you are experiencing break outs on your forehead AND your cheeks? Or from a holistic point of view, are you feeling quite emotional over something that has happened recently? Perhaps an emotional upheaval has meant you're tummy is feeling sore and that you're crying a fair bit??

I know it all sounds crazy but they do say that you can tell an awful lot about areas on your face that are causing you concern!

What is microdermabrasian and does it help acne?

Active acne is a contra indication to micro derm but it can help with acne scarring.

It is a type of mechanical exfoliation using finely ground crystals to exfoliate and resurface the skin. Fantastic treatment.

I've been having slight outbreaks recently which has been bothering me.

I cleanse my skin either using facial wipes or baby wipes followed by a skin tonic and I think I may have been overdoing it with facial scrubs. I ended up with lots of lumps and bumps under the skin on my chin area but not really any of the usual spots.

I went to the doctors and she prescribed Duac which has worked a treat and I only use it when I get an outbreak.

Was recommended dermobrasion a month or so on here and can't wait to try it out. Is it good for fine lines and/or dryness or will it cause further problems - my skin is no longer congested - thank god! :D

I have acne on my jawline and I was prescribed Duac also which works well. I only use it when it is bad and make up generally covers them.

I had 10 sessions of CACI and I noticed an improvement on the skin but since I've decreased my sessions to 3-4 weeks the acne has become noticeable again.

I like glycolic but I only use it very occassionally.

Duac is like the topex you used to buy OTC years ago it has benzyl or something like that in but it also has some antibiotic in it also. I use it very sparingly and not all the time but it says to use it once a day.

Thank you for all this, I never got any email notifications so didn't know there we're replies!

I have kept my skin care as a routine for the past few months apart from the cleanser side of things, which is from Loreal at the moment. But I am still using Alpha H Micro Scrub, Alpha H Liquid Gold mask and their deep cleansing mask I think it is called, after using their moisturiser or liquid gold but my skin has gone mad again, or if my skin is really dry I use an none pore clogging moisturiser with Jojoba Oil.

I have resorted to using Panoxyl Aquagel 2.5% on spots at night but its making my skin very red so I just dap it on and leave it.
I am going to change my cleanser to Australian Bodycare Skin Wash with the above and see if that helps.

The panoxyl is supposed be very effective for acne i cant get a hold of it only quinoderm. its not as good. appartently panoxyl is gone off the market for a few months no chemists seem to stock it or can get a hold of it

Hi I bought panoxyl last week from Boots, its not on the shelves with all the other cleansers, I had to ask the assistant and she got it from behind the counter. Dermalogicas new acne range is called Clean Start. If you google it you will find where to buy it and they have a starter kit I bought mine off Amazon think it was about £19. My daughter suffers from severe acne and have used these products, which have helped so much, and as I am fortunate enough to offer Micdrodermabrasion in my salon I have been using it to clear the scarring. As its the scarring which makes the skin still look worse even when the spots have gone. We have done 5 treatments and have seen an improvement but still a way to go, but know we will get there.

Keeping your skin clean is the most important thing so perhaps get a really good cleansing routine going. I use dermalogicas precleanse and then special cleansing gel to make sure all my make up and surface debris are removed thoroughly. Exfoliation is important too as dead skin can block the pores trapping the bacteria.

Just popes over from nail geek hope you don't mind :)

What does it mean if you have acne on you back and neck? I have suffered for years with acne on my back and neck, not so much the face. I have been on antibiotics numerous times but after finishing each course they came back, I have been on several pills and whilst on them my back and neck were clear. Within 2 weeks of coming off them my back is hideous!

They can be small spots that you get on your face to big nasty lumpy painful ones that take weeks to go do down.

I have been referred to a dermatologist and they say it's just 'late acne' which I don't really get as I'm 23!

I use clinkers on my face but it doesn't seem to work for those on my neck/ back.

It's quite unsightly too and I'm my own worst enemy as I can't leave them alone!! Summer tops I avoid like the plague cause of how bad it looks! :(

Sorry for the essay! :)

Any thoughts/advice would be great :) Xxx
