I need to find a Mani/pedi range for my home salon. I have just sampled a range which smelled of Vicks vapour rub ! Great for colds but not for pedis please.

What range of products really gives you the 'WOW Factor' and why? Does it deliver what it promises and do your clients come back for more?

Can one get samples and try befor the buy?

Thanks geeks. Your input will be welcome.

For men's it would have to be raw earth... without a doubt.

Still looking for womens. Trialling some of the SpaRitual products at the moment. Harmonizing soak tonic has mandarin in it and smells gorgeous and the Instinctual moisturizing lotion has indonesian ginger in it and has a lovely zingy smell that's not overpowering. Also loving their Cuti quench and cuti cocktail. Think it's going to be a stayer for me :)

Essie Spa Pedicure products are lovely ... not sure about samples. Perhaps if you're off to PB North you could ask for demo, sniff, sample !

Solar mani is good enough to eat and for my dry hands leaves them in tip-top conditioner, its gr8 when used with heated mitts, can be used all over the body and flies off the shelves.
I use spa pedi and I love it tho I am looking for a different scented product for winter.
I used to work with Leighton Denny products and I find his pedi range lovely tho I would like to move away from mint if possible.

The thing is that mint and spearmint and camphor are naturally cooling so are included in most pedicure ranges.

CND Raw Earth is the winter pedicure range you are looking for. Devine and is a warming pedicure.

I was trained to use the Gena range and it was really nice, I really really like the sloughing cream.

But, I don't do many pedis, I do have them on a regular basis, its one of my fav treatments to have.

Most beauty salons that I have been to use heel to toe or the wholesalers make - salon something or t'other.

I really love the Get Fresh range, and was lucky enough to win a mini set in a raffle, that was scrumptious, lovely aha mask.

I have been lucky enough to have a creative spa pedi and that was really lovely, I enjoyed the textures, aromas and the sheer pamper factor. The pedicure had lots of extra bits that I hadn't had before in a pedi.

At the moment I am using the Thai mani and pedi range, but I won't be buying more of it, their are some nice bits to it, but I hate the masks.

Thanks Andrea, what is it about them that you love?

To be honest, the quality of all of the products and the results you get with all of the brands.

Jessica has two ranges to choose from - one which is freshly scented and the other is ginger, very warming and suits whatever mood the client is in!

Spa Manicure/Pedicure - suits almost anyone, fresh smell again and great results - skin and nails transformed!

OPI - the variety of products you can get which clients love.

I got Raw Earth when the girls trained up and we've never used it and last night I spray tanned a girl from Australia who couldnt rave about it enough so I'm gonna give it a whirl as I know I prob wont get many products that havent got mint in.
Thanks

You and your clients are unique. There are many products and techniques - you have to customise accordingly. Start with basics, introduce what you feel is best and then take a few risks - be honest with your clients why not see what they like?!

I have been a nail therapist for a few years now and don't think I will have any problem adapting and customizing accordingly.

However, at the moment I can't afford to bring in just any product range without doing my homework first. I almost took a risk today and the sample I was shown smelt like Vicks ..... brill if your nose is bunged up. This is why I want to know what makes nail techs buy what they buy. They must love it for a reason. Whatever I choose, I believe that if I love it, then my clients will too.

i love the CND range of mani and pedi products, but i have to use opi pedi at work - which i dont like, because they dont smell as good as the CND ones, and in my opinion dont have the same effect

Raw Earth is my absolute fave ever ! The warming sensation makes it feel even more luxurious :D

EzFlow do a nice mani/pedi range and you used to be able to buy a small pack containing everything you need in 6 or 8oz tubs....maybe still can not sure? but it's lovely, reasonably priced (even more so if they have them at GMex btw) and if you like it you can then go on to get larger pots etc.
It is called Spa Elements and has a 5 step package.
Basically I found that after doing one pedicure with the kit I had made my money back with lots more use to come x
I think it's called the mini Spa kit.

I use the CND range, Sola mani, (I also use it for pedi) Creative Spa mani and pedi and also the Raw earth pedi.

They all have great smells, are all very effective, and my clients swear they would have nothing else - works for me:lol:

I love OPI. There are a variety of different products to choose from depending on the result you and your client require. The smell of the products are gorgeous and I could eat the pedicure scrub - delicious!!

The clients are always very pleased with the results and it is also a very 'hands on' treatment. I have had several clients move to me and away from the local Jessica salon for this very reason.:)

Im in exactly the same boat at the mo so great thread! I am trying to find a mani/pedi range so that i can "streamline" my home salon, ie display posters, retail items etc. Its really hard! I hate pedicure products with mint, so i know that dosent help, lol. I have tried cnd raw earth, which i like for the colder months. I have spa ritual samples to try which i received yesterday and i must say that their whole presentation was very professional, which gives a good first impression! I have also sent off for the ciate glamorous pedi sample kit, so will let you know what thats like. Another one i am looking at is the cuccio range, as their products can be used for mani and pedi, and the milk and honey range is beautiful! The salon kit also comes resented in a woden basket so great for me with my limited storage. Also jessica's range is lovely, but large opening orders are required!

I've used Ciate at home before I changed over completely to CND and really liked the pedi products for a general pedi.

NSI SpaRitual is a lovely range, all their products are vegan too. You can buy 21 sample packets for £5. The website is SpaRitual UK: Home or
tel: 0808 2020855.

With these products they can also be used on hands, body, feet and they also have a nail range. hth
