Hi there

I am presently doing beauty therapy in college and finish in June. We have only covered cleansing, toning masks etc in the dermologcia range, but im on the other side of 37 years and feel my skin needs a good peel etc (as never use one, only manual exfoliation)

My skin feels dull still grey and I feel it needs a kick start so to speak. I suffer with chloasma and have been advised not to have strong peels as this could aggravate my skin issue, but i feel need to have a good peel so my products can work better, but I have no idea where to start. Dermologica use exfoliation products of course, but i want to use the next step up. Any advice:idea:

cheers

The one I mentioned is from Algologie.

Hi ,

Have you try the lé edge , the new exfoliation tool from Belgium.
that is the best peeling you can without chemicalien and just with water.
Have a look to the website Le Edge

I was just looking at these in Professional Beauty.
I can't read the website, but I am rather curious. Could you tell us a bit more about them?

If you click on the third option under each of the links on the web site it tells you about it in English.

Oooo You're so clever, thanks.

If you did decide to go down the glycolic route there are glycolic ranges which are available with a sensitive formula, which means you still have the same effect but at a slightly slower rate, with less tingling and they adjust the PH of the products to be kinder on a sensitive skin.

Thank you lots to choose from, I may just try them all :)

cheers

the best peels are the md formulations one!! they have a fab range!!

Decleor's Alpha Plus facial includes an AHA peel (16%), which is a good peel, especially when taken as part of a course. If not, have you thought of an ultrasonic 'peel'? I use the CACI Ultra machine & have had fantastic results, without the redness & trauma to the skin.

they sound great il have a look at them

cheers for that:)

Where in the UK are you? There are quite a number of salons stocking SwissDermyl (I'm one for a start!).
The enzyme peel is one of those Wow treatments - your skin will look cleaner, brighter, decongested. It's applied with a brush and left on for 10 minutes, and I advise clients to use it once or twice a week depending on the condition of the skin. Combined with a specific serum and finishing cream it makes a real difference to both the health and presentation of the skin. There's no redness after using the enzyme peel either!
Do feel free to pm me if you'd like any more info!

Nimue bio-complex, nimue glycopeel!!!!!!!

I am using Elemis Tri-enzyme resurfacing serum at the moment, have been using it for around 3 weeks now, and can see the results. My skin is much smoother.

Microdermabraison is excellent and I love Dannes peels. It all depends on the end result you want. You said its because your skin looks dull and tired and then also for wrinkles.

I would combine either MD Formulations/Nimue or Danne as these are excellent peels with a course of Micro D too. The micro D can actually lighten the chloasma providing the tech goes over the area lightly and this goes for the peels away, as its the heat and friction that can worsen pigmentation.

Novita have a cream that lightens chloasma too. One of my clients had the same and used this cream (and for the life of me cannot remember its name) and it made a visible difference. (thinking it may be called terosine proun: terrozanay). I have a few clients though that dont care about the pigmentation marks providing they dont worsen so havent had many try it out.

I have had a DR Shrammek Peel and it lightened a scar on my face but they set you back about £250.
