Hi, I thought i would post in here as im not sure if the nail forum is more for acrylic nails. But for normal maincures, im not sure what paint to buy? i want a proffesional product but not too expensive and would like to buy a kit for a choice of colours. i have seen nail essentials at beauty express, but that seems quite cheap at 48 colours for £xx?? but does that mean they arent very good? everyone recommends creative, but im only charging £12.00 for manicure, so not sure if i would make money back?? x

I love OPI polishes. If you give Lena White a call they should be able to tell you if they have any kits that may be of interest.

Why not go for fewer colours and a good brand, if you arrived with basic polishes to my home I do not think I would rebook especially when they chip very easy.

There are some great polishes out there, and i am sure if you ask they will let you buy a few to start you off.

Build a good reputation by using quality products.

The nail forum is for all things nails.

I'd recommend Creative polishes, start off with 10 (Sweet Squared will let you know the most popular colours)

Getting a cheap brand will not give you the professional finish you are looking for IMO.

i agree with the above....

it is better to spend £50 on good quality enamels than waist £50 on trying to save a few pounds and get more paint for your money! it will only cost you more later on having to replace it once it has separated or gone gloopy... With top quality enamels like CND you will easily make your money back as well as happy returning clients.

why don't you buy what i feel are foundation colours to start you off like pink and white for french, opal pearlesant, pink, peach ect. Then as you start to bring in more money add to your collection and don't forget you need a good base and top coat.

I would also recommend Creative. Most of my clients buy their favourite colour because it's such a good quality enamel.
I'd get on the phone to Sweet Squared right now if I were you - Nail Noir is back in stock!

Hi Hun

I bought a couple of Sinful nail polishes the other day, thought I'd try them out - what a waste of time and money! I wanted brights so got a bright blue, that was really thick and gloopy, I got a neon orange, that was thin, and transparent on the nail, so lost its brightness!

I'll never buy cheap again, I'm going to call Sweet Squared and get the reccommended 10. I got a creative polish 4 years ago, forgot about it, got it out the other day, still perfect! Now THAT is quality that saves you money, I can still use this 4 years on, the other ones are new and throw away.

HTH

Apart from Opi and Creative, another good one to consider is China Glaze. I've had very good results with it. :)

I don't think you will save a penny by buying CND polishes on ebay. People who do tell me they have bought colours in bottles that we changed 4-5 years ago ... it is usually OLD OLD stock and you do not know how they have been stored.

If you want to be professional then support those who are happy to support you and your business development. That is not ebay.

Another thing to consider is that CND is just what you asked for. A professional polish at a very reasonable price. Just compare with OPI and you will know what I mean ... not to mention that it is not sold to your customers via the QVC chanel. That is not supporting you the professional that is taking the food out of your mouth.

The number for Sweet Squared is 0845 2106060 and you will need to prove you have a certificate to purchase.

Ok, thankyou for the number i will give them a call x
