Hi I am new to gels, I think I want a soak off but not really sure. I have never used a hard gel non soak off so I can not compare. I do want to use one that is easy to use. I also want to be able to use it for enhancements to build on a form or tip.
Please share your likes and dislikes. Would like to know how the brand you use compares to the other you have tried and didn't like. Interested in knowing about the consistency , ease of fills, time to soak gel off or file off, cure time, and durability Thanks all

I don't use any soak off gel yet, I use Brisa only.... but i'm holding out til May for the lauch of CND's Shellac. Search for it on here, it might be just what you are after, and well worth the short wait. Hth x x

One of the best known and certainly top quality soak off gels is Bio Sculpture. It's been the utter making of many a business on here including mine. It does everything from simple overlays, right the way through to strong, beautiful, natural looking enhancements, and soaks off like a dream!

One of the added advantages is that it gets asked for time and time again by many clients...something that rarely, if ever happens with other brands. This is down to the vast amount of consumer marketing that Bio Sculpture do...certainly in the UK. I often open a new magazine and find an advert!

We have a Bio Sculpture techs/users group here, why not pop in and ask a few questions of everyone in there, they'd be happy to tell you how the product has worked for them. If you decide to go with it, you'll also find the group an incredible additional resource to your training....and one that is utterly product specific as opposed generically as is often the case elsewhere. I'll send you an invite to join us.

ive been happy with bio sculpture and agree with lindsays points. however , lately i use lechat nobility soak off gel which i find just as good only less expensive.

Hi I use Calgel and I love it, I haven't used and other gel so can't compare, but I am really happy with the product and my clients love them too. :)

I've used calgel, nobility, bio sculpture, and christrio

Calgel - I like the quick curing time and shine, but I felt that they were too weak for enhancements. I also didn't like their customer service.

Nobility - It took a bit longer to cure, but it was nice and firm and good for enhancements. My only complaint is the smell of their cleanser... yuck :X

Bio - Their colour selection is to die for, and the gel is nice and flexible for NNO's. I also like their home care products a lot, and their customer service is awesome.

Christrio - I don't know why they're not so popular, but their Permashine soak off gel is my favorite! I use this gel for enhancements because it's firm, and it's crystal clear and never yellows. I haven't had the chance to order their colours though.

So right now, I use Bio and Christrio at my salon.

I use Calgel.I haven't used any other soak off gels so cant compare.I have been really happy with Calgel and have built up a very happy client base and it is now the majority of my business.

I still use a hard gel occasionally. For instance if someone wants white tips or long nail extensions or they are prolific nibblers although generally i am happy to pass those persons onto someone who can offer a more advanced service than myself.

I prefer to promote it as a natural nail strengthener and encourage people not to have extensions with it, if they can wait, but to have it just on nno.Within 2 or 3 weeks most have a grown a good length and carry on from there happy with their own nails.Of course you can extend with it either with sculpts or tips, this takes a bit of practice to get right as it is quite a runny gel. There is only the one clear gel that does all jobs as it is very strong and then the colour range, oh and a superclear which can be used over french to prevent yellowing.

I certainly cant rate Calgels (in uk) customer service highly enough and there is a lot of training to be had. After your initial training you can do skill building classes, nail art and premier status.
Calgel doesnt have the high profile like bio but i think they are working on that they seem to be doing more promotion lately and they have also added to their colour range i have just recieved colour pops of their new12 colours and i think they really fill in the gaps in their range their are some absolutely stunning up to the minute new colours, the neutrals everyones after and even a Katie Price pink.
