I use CND performance tips, no well and virtually no blending required, they're simply brilliant, I use the clear tips for gel and white or natural for the L&P depending on requirements, you can also use clear for L&P if you want to create a smile line of clear with glitter etc. For sculpting I use the CND silver ones (sorry can't remember exactly what they're called) and the clear ones for gel. hth

They are called CND Performance Forms !! lol Easy to remember.

I'm like you .. for tips I use almost exclusively the CND Performance tips and if I need a tip with a well, it is CND Velocity because they blend in seconds (the beauty of spending a bit more to save allot of time).

Hi girls :)

Probably a silly question! I tend to sculpt because I get on with it really well and it's cut my time right down, but if I want tips, I too use CND Performance tips, but why would I need to use Velocity (or any other tip with a well) if all I'm going to do is file most of it away anyway? I was taught on my CND course with Performance tips, so the question never really came up then.

Thanks, just a tad confused :o

Sometimes one just needs a tip with a well. If the free edge is nonexistent or bitten well down. In those cases I would not use a Performance tip myself and I personally would not sculpt it. . sometimes one just needs a tip with a well to give some side wall definition to nails that don't have it. Sometimes a blended tip does better for these conditions.

CND have many different kinds of tips for different kinds of nail conditions and shapes .. that is why they have choices for us. One tip definitely does not suit all. Nor does a sculpted service suit everyone ..

I've said it often enough .. I do what is easiest and quickest for ME to do in the salon ... all the different services I do last for the same amount of time for the client. There is no such thing as one type of enhancement being a better service than another if they are all done well.

I adore CND Velocity tips...they are so versatile and very easy to blend like Geeg says....

and CND Performance tips are wonderful too...

I find those two tips the most popular...but I love all the CND tips...

I've tried others and they just don't seem to have the same 'quality' about them.

Try some sample packs first...see how you like them xxx

CND Performance tips for me too.
Natural, clear, even white...
If I need to apply beautiful forever french nail enhancements in a 30 minute slot, white performance tips and an overlay of clear L&P using POPITS is the only realistic answer!! (This would NOT be my normal procedure guys, this is for mad time saving skillz only, where the client has a long enough nail bed. ;))

I cut 15 mins off my usual tip and overlay time when we introduced performance tips, woo-hoo!

All the answers have been about a specific brand and the variety of tips available. This is fine.

But.......in my opinion the best choice of tip is the one THAT FITS THE NAIL BED!

The 'c' curve must be the right one. A white tip is fine IF:
a. the 'c' curve is right
b. the clients nail bed is long enough to take a white tip

A tip that needs little or no blending is good but only if it cannot be seen through the overlay. (I have seen so many nails where the tip is so obvious due to lack of blending)

Every technician has their favourites and they should have a selection so every client has the one that is right for them!

Is there a particular type of nail that is best suited to white tips or blended, natural tips? I know that too short a nail bed means that it will need to be extended before white is used to prevent a stumpy look.

Would a natural tip be used for someone who either just wants natural finish or has very short nail beds, making it easier to define an extended nail bed?

I use pro impressions well less tips when the job calls for them and CND velocity for when the nail is extremely short .

I use natural for all jobs to be truthful. even when I want a pink and white. I just like them more than a white tip.
