Please can you help, I am looking for a wax heater that I can place the wax tubs directly in so that I can change them easily and use paraffin wax as well.
I have been looking at the Hive 500cc and also the Eggpot but not sure which one to buy so would appreciate any comments or any other recommendations.

Thank you

i used to use the eggpot, and found it great. I use phd now but did like the eggpot, and it looked great, lol.

I'm a big fan of the Hive 1000cc

I haven't tried the 500cc but I'm sure I've read others' comments that the capacity isn't large enough

I have bought at least 6 different wax heaters and the Hive 1000cc is definitely my fave, it does the job :)

Thanks for your replies, we use the hive style at college and the tubs fit in the 500 and it is cheaper so I thought it would be enough for my needs just now.

I have used Phd at college and am not that keen on it but maybe when I have more experience I might try it again. You can convert the egg pot to the tube system as well so it looks more versatile.

I use three 1000cc Hive heaters but just so you know, at the trade shows, they do a fab special offer and the 500cc are the same price as the 1000cc. xxxx

You can get the inner bucket for the Hive 1000cc heater too, so you can buy two or three spare and change them when you need to. I know for sure Ellisons stock them.

Thanks to everyone for their replies.

This thread is exactly what I was thinking of asking, I too want to put in a wax pot directly in, but also put parafin wax into it too. is the 500cc or the 1000cc better for the job, not sure I understand the difference between the two? thanks........ sorry to jump on thread (dont want to start one up the same)

The 500cc is the one you put your pot of wax directly into.
The 1000cc heater has a metal inner bucket that you can lift out of the heater, and you pour your wax into the bucket. That means that you can use one heater for several different types of wax - strip, non-strip and paraffin - you just change over the inner bucket.

Does that help?

I would not be without my phd unit...infact I have two coz im greedy lol. For hygine you cant beat it and it saves me time and money due to the fact it only taskes me 10 mins to do a half leg wax :green:
