Hi there

(er, wot happened to the smilies!? - note to GMG, stop it! Leave them alone :irked:)

Anyway, I have a problem. I spray tanned two girls yesterday with a different solution (a well known brand) to the one I have used before, one is my sister, the other is her friend who has never had a spray tan before. I have sprayed my sister 3 times before with no problems but this morning she told me hers had gone patchy and her friend was orangy!

My sister did say that hers could be a build up of older tan and that she might not have exfoliated properly (she's had one a week since I started tanning, but not sure why her mate would've gone orangy?

I sprayed them both with the same percentage, do you think it was maybe to strong and that's why? Should I try a lighter one on her friend (she is lighter skinned that my sister)?

Any help appreciated. xx

Lol I think your sister has explained her problem !! A build up and lack of exfoliation will most definitly be the cause of a patchy tan and the fact she has fessed indicates a guilty conscience!! lol

As for the other girl, orangeness tends to be a sign the solution used was to strong, leave the girl a week make sure she exfoliates lots, and try her with a lower strength.

Also just as an after thought, have you seen the other girl? If she is pale natrually she may not look orangey at all but just may feel surprised by the colour changed and therefore only look orangey in her eyes?? (did that make sense!!)

Thanks Lee

Yes, my sister fessed, lol! So I know that wasn't down to me (and I've tanned her enough to know my application procedure is fine).

I had a quick search on here about the orangy look and came to the conclusion that it was quite possibly the strength of the solution but thought I'd post to sort of try to confirm my feelings about this ;) (I used 10%). I haven't seen her although I asked my sister for a picture but her friend lives in London and had left already. I've told my sister, that the next time she's down, I'll do a tan for her but use a weaker solution.

It could be she's not used to a tan but my sister said she looks orangy and she has compared with my sister and she's not orangy, just patchy, lol! I did say when I'd finished tanning them yesterday that my sister has a build up of tan so might look different and also because of peoples skin tones, so I think I covered my bases so to speak :wink2:

Thanks again for replying hun. xx
