I took this picture before,
Do you think her nails / hands would be ok for competition nails ?
Her nails are in really good condition,
What you cant see on here I as used white tips tonight are she also has a lovely free edge shape...
A lovely curve to butt my form upto...

I have asked would she be willing and she would be more than happy too...

My choices so far are these ...or another lady's which I will post a link too,...
But tbh I would prefer to work on this set I am posting a picture on..

What do you think ???

I am sooooooo thinking the first .
But I need to know if they are ok, or do I need to keep looking lol,...
I just totally want to get it right with the canvas of my work xxx

This lady's nails are by far the best to work on out of the 2 choices. Not just her nails but her hands are much the better choice.

This lady is a good hand model for you, your work is fab - go for it girl! x

ooo brilliant, thankyou,
I said to her tonight how not only are her nails lovely.
But her hand takes a good photo...
she looked confused lol,
I explained some people can have nice hands in the flesh...But they are soooo not photogenic..

I was DYING to whip out my forms and have a go tonight...But she needed speed kids etc...
I have made her aware my comp practice may take longer etc...she said no problemo, she would be pleased to help,
(and shes not the type to be always after a freebie etc...ect....so makes me want to use her more as its a geniune offer )

Hers are...
Brilliant, I have found my model yyiipppeeeee......
Just need to find my courage now lol

This lady is also the best option in other ways too I think...
We get on really well, shes A similar age to me, We have similar age kids..
And the same name lol..
Perfect..

Now ......How do I explain to lady 2...I wont be requiring her services as a model
I stupidly got myself into a bit of a hole here peeps...
But as a learning curve.......I will somehow dig myself back out..and put it behind me as experience and move on lol

I would just say you have had another offer form a person whose hands fit the criteria better.

A younger hand is important. In fact the hands you choose can make all the difference. In this case, the nail shape is nicer too. You can still use the other lady for practise.

Yup thankyou hun
I will have to let the other lady know,
Im excited now it all seems so ..."real" lol,
And strangely I am kinda looking forward to being under some pressure..
Is that very strange of me lol...

Need to start swatting up on comp style and rules now..etc...
I dont actually know what The heck I am doing yet other than.
Deeper smiles, nice and thin and consistant..good line of light...good c curve,
And brush up on my polish technique

go for it emma!!! xx

As you know I competed for the first time at Excel this month and I decided to stay within my comfort zone but go for conistency. So I didn't do 'deep' smile lines, but did consistent smiles. I tried my best to make each nail look the same..... I worked really hard on my application, no bubbles, consistent c-curves (although I didn't do too deep and pinch) and I worked really hard on my finishing...... Definitely brush up your polishing - that's the area I need to work on before I do it again.....

Oh, one last thing - don't compete in the same one as me cos you'll beat me hands down, lol!!!!

Thankyou hun,
And your last comment lmao,...No way !
I am sure I will end up in a heap of nerves huddled in a corner somewhere by the end of it lol....

So what is involved in keeping it consistant the whole way through ?
Does it mean like, consistant length, shape, sidewalls, apex, c curve and smile line ..? did I miss anything

I am hoping to sculpt too,

Emmsybabes, I've said this before and will say it again ..... fab work! Good luck in your preparation for the comp. I have no doubt you will do extremely well. xx

What brill work hun.....hope you enter it and i shall keep fingers crossed for you xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Thankyou girls
Just to mention though incase its not clear in my title,

I do mean are the clients NATURAL nails and the look of her hands ok for comps...Not the enhancements I put on her,
I know its hard to tell as I dont have a before pic of her nails...

yes she is a good model for you hun xx

go for it Maemay... nice hands and nails and its a bonus if they are local clients for practice :D

Her hands and nails show great potential, the model in the other picture is OK (she has a misshapen cuticle on the ring finger, but i'm a fussy buggar), the first one has quite a nice creamy texture to her skin also.

But don't stop looking, you may find someone with even longer nailbeds.
