No, NOT professional products!!!!!

I've got a few bits that I would normally take to a charity shop, but that I'd rather sell (eg a pair of boots I bought and wore once:lol:).

I've never sold anything on Ebay and I'm not sure if it's worth the hassle.

Has anyone got any advice for me? do you think it;s worthwhile doing?

Yep, I've sold a fdw bits on Ebay.
Mainly my kids clothes - NEXT & Joe Bloggs stuff.
I find designer type stuff is good on ebay.
I've also sold some shoes and boots of my own.

Think about the time of year - so don't try and sell a bikini - try for fleece right now iykwim - seasonal stuff.

PM me Chelle if you need anymore info - I have a 100% feed back on about 160 transactions.

xxxx

I sold a lot of Denby china - and made a lot of money. Sadly I saw a lot of bone china I liked and bought nearly enough to be divorced but thats another story...........

Have a look around and see if there is anything similar to what you want to sell and see how the bidding is going.

Good luck:lol:

I've sold a lot of designer clothes and things like Rachels "Elle" macs that she's hardly wore (she prefers the one from Dunnes:rolleyes:)
I've sold loads of dvds on Amazon too.
Trouble is with ebay I go and spend the money again on honeypots because I collect them:lol:
WARNING DO NOT TRUST ME AND ADELE:lol:

I used to sell loads of stuff on ebay only stopped as Id got nothing left to sell !

If you've never used it before then the best advice I can give is to buy a few cheap things to build up your feedback, I find that many people can be wary of new sellers incase they get scammed.

In all honesty I tended not to buy off new ebayers (below 5 feedback) just to be on the safe side.

Another tip is to make sure your items end on your days off unless you know you can get to the post office asap, as some buyers will start moaning if you don't send the item the next day !!

Thought you might be interested to know that on Thursday you can list items for 5p check out eBay UK - List your items for 5p

I've found ebay to be good experience so far both buying and selling. hth:)

Hoorahh, Kids are back in school on thursday so a whole day to myself (so far anyway) and a room full of junk to get rid off...with a 5p listing day
Oh the glory ! :green:

I think it has its upsides and its downsides...
Such as the stuff I sold last week they all paid with paypal, and I am skint so havent been able to post them out yet as I have no money for the postage lol...
Loads in the paypal....nothing in the purse other than moths :green:
Just hope they forgive me lol

I sell loads on ebay hubby says i would sell him if i could he came home once and i had sold the table and chairs LOL (we were gonna sell them anyway) I have good and bad with ebay a few non payers but its good if you have stuff you wanna get rid of and need some cash:green:

i have got tons of stuff but can never be bothered to be honest (god am sooo lazy ) and usually end up taking it to charity shop  i just make out i love doing stuff for charity, lol

i sell things on ebay all the time and i think as long as your items arent crap then theres no reason they wouldnt sell.
try doing a search on the things that you want to sell and have a look at how they've listed it and what there staring price and postage is as you dont want to end up being to expensive.
you can also look at completed listings once you are a member so you can see what similar items have sold for.
i think its worth doing and im sure once you start you will be addicted, lol.x

I sold quite a bit when I was moving last year, things like clothes, old books, things that I generally didnt need or couldn't be bothered to pack.

People that ask daft questions annoyed me quite a bit "are you sure the colour is black as it doesn't look black" if it states black, then it is black & paypall!! If I sell anything now, I would rather accept cheque or cash. I had sold some of by sisters baby boots that was never warn as they were too small, when the buyer had received them, she reported to ebay & paypall that they had been worn & were filthy!! Paypall then took the money out my bank account and refunded her ... so she had her money back & brand new boots!!

I havent sold anything on their recently as it just annoys me :irked:

Good luck though, I was always told that if you put a very informative description, then it will always sell.

I find with Ebay ..you win some you loose some!! I brought a pair of sunglasses once on there for a fiver...didnt like them..put them back on they sold for 20 quid:lol:.Then there was a time when I sold my daylight lamp..it went for about 7 quid, ..I brought it for about forty..:(.

It depends on how many people bid on the item , if youve only got one interested in it , then you wont have much joy, if youve got a few , you could be laughing , oh and when you sell the items , make sure the auction finishes about 8 in the evening when people are more likely to be around on their computer at home.

I know this is an old thread, but I had my first experience of selling something recently and it went horribly wrong. A tread mill for £75. A buyer came along and I thought they bought it as it said the item was paid for on my screen. The buyer collected it from my house, but I couldnt see where the money had gone. I contacted the buyer, she said she paid in cash on collection.. lies. I contacted ebay and they were useless. They just told me to go to the police.
I hate ebay. I wont be using them.

There is a difference between someone actually buying the item & paying for it. eBay notifies you when the item has been paid for there is also a row of symbols which become highlighted when actions are complete for example if you post something out you mark it as dispatch same for feed back & I believe it's a pound symbol for payment.
It looks like you didn't check properly & when it said you sold your item you thought you had the money they came to collect & you didn't ask for the money so they didn't give it to you. Some people sadly have no shame.
There is no possibility of the money being there & then it going. Sadly this is your error. :(

yes thanks, I know its my error, as I didnt know how to check properly. I know now. But I hate it all the same.

I'm ebaying like crazy at the moment. I've had good and bad experiences too. There's times I hate it, and vow to give up, especially after being scammed by a buyer, but I get lured back. I never buy from it though.

I've just dealt with a horrible person on there! I'm liking it less and less, been on there for years but people seem to be getting worse and worse! Plus sellers don't have a leg to stand on half the time x

I sold a lash ext sealant. Brand new, just surplus stock. Girl bought it, then SIX weeks later, said it wasn't new and had been used. I was livid. eBay refunded her in full, despite my arguments. She finally sent back a used, opened sealant.
Bad Karma to her.
Will be glad to get shot of all my beauty equipment though, as it seems most therapists on there expect brand new for buttons. I have to stop for a while, calm down, then start again!

That's exactly how I feel Lila! I use to make quite a killing on there in the olden days (10 to 5 years ago) but nowadays it looks like its a free for all to see who can scam you. I'm sick of it and won't be using it again. Car boot sales now once a year to get rid of all my junk.

Yep people are pulling all sorts of scams, I've bought nearly new items that I would not even give to the jumble and people saying they don't want what they bought and both postage costs refunded or will leave neg feedback! I'm getting fed up! Think it's had it's day in my opinion xx
