Hi guys

One of my very best friends is 8 months pregnant, 3rd pregnancy and is booked in for cesarian section on 3rd June.

She has asked if I would wax her bikini line for her as she hasnt been able to reach it for months;)

Although she doesnt do it, she did train at college in beauty therapy so knows the ropes a little, but I have to say Im a little worried I'd send her into labour. I would like to do it for her as I know she really wants it so any advice guys????

Ha Ha! If it brought on early labour, they'd be queueing around the block for it.

Lots of woman like to have a Hollywood before they deliver, so a bikini wax will be fine. Just get her to tell you if she's uncomfortable (she will). Do what you normally do........no acrobatics. xxx

Ha Ha, thanks Kim,
I think in this case early labour is not what she wants so you've put my mind at rest.
But maybe I should start offering it at an ante natel class eh?? ;)

Be aware that the client may need to have a rolled up towel placed in the small of her back and may not be able to be in your usual bikini waxing position.

Also clients who are heavily pregnant tend to be very swollen down below, due to the pressure/position of baby so extra care definately needs to be taken.HTH

I have done lots of bikinis and Hollywoods for heavily pregnant women in readiness for the big delivery. They cannot always get into the usual positions but I let them find a position comfortable for them, take extra care on supporting the skin and the rest is simple. A bikini is a doddle so don't worry! :D

As the other said, you should be fine but just watch out which prewax oil you are using......ie avoid Jasmine oil as that could effect the pregnancy and potentially induce labour - which is of course the last thing you want!

2 years ago i did a brazilian wax on a lady who had 2 weeks left of her pregnancy, did the wax fine no problems. However, she had a show in the car on the way home from the salon and her baby son was born hours later! Obviously her son was on the way already but i guess i'll never know if the wax helped it along any quicker!!!
