Can any one help i had a client this morning and she wanted black glitter on her toes yes i know its not everyones cup of tea, anyway i used l&p and mixed my black glitter with clear acrylic.
She didnt want a thin layer so by the time i had finished and put glaze & go on top they really didnt look much like black glitter just looked like black acrylic. she said she was happy with them and i asked her twice just to be sure but inside i just knew she wasnt happy.
An hr later she calles me and tells me shes not happy could i do something about it to make it look more glittery so shes coming back tomorrow can anyone make any suggestions so i can make it more glittery for her. I appreciate the help.

i had a client that wanted black glitter so i mixed black acrylic and some opal shimmer from NSI. It really was more of a shimmer and the glitter had a greenish tint to it but she said she was really happy. i did feel though that they could have been more glittery but maybe the lady just wanted a shimmer. Do you have black acrylic? maybe you could try black acrylic mixed with silver glitter on a tip to see what that would bge like?x

As these nails are already done, and you really don't want to soak off and start again, can't you get a glitter polish to apply over them. Just take off the glaze & go apply the glitter polish and re apply Glaze & Go.

I do glitter toes with gel .. so much easier.

Just apply my base layer and then the glitter all over the surface cure and Gel Finishing gloss. SOLID glitter and really gorgeous. Takes very little time at all.

Yes I agree with Geeg, gel on toes with glitter sprinkled on top is easier.

For future reference, Young nails do a fab black glitter that does actually look like black glitter when mixed with clear acrylic.

black glitter is quite hard anyway i think, as if it is that dense a glitter/ l+p ratio then the glitter will not show up. i think that painting over the top with a glitter enamel then top coat again is the best way to go. next time try mixing the glitter with another glitter that will make them sparkle. black with some purple looks nice...that way the 2 colours show up.

I just want to note that Glaze 'n Go is not meant to go over polish so you might not be happy with those results. If you don't want to start from scratch, maybe you could file down the acrylic a little and just do a thin layer of gel on top to do the "sprinkle" method as advised by some other on this post.

DO you not waste alot of glitter when you sprinkle?? I've only ever added the glitter to the clear gel.

most black glitters dont actually sparkle, its to do with the way black absorbs the light and doesnt reflect it.
i mix in the nsi opal shimmer to mine and find that helps give it the glimmer without changing the colour too much. sometimes include a little silver instead.

however on the upside. if you want a solid black colour the black glitter works more easily than a black acrylic powder because it doesnt have the tendency for the colour to 'bleed'

I have a bottle of glaze n go that i keep purely for a shimmery finish, i just lightly dip it into opal shimmer then apply to overlay. you could just buff of the glaze n go thats on the nail and do this. the finish can sometimes feel a bit gritty so i put a normal layer on after.

I'd just put a glittery nail polish on but more of a silver than peraly or rainbow, as mentioned abve it tends to go a bit greeny. For futute nail grafix is maybe the best place to go as you can mix it with any type of L & P hth xx

my fave on toes would have to be twinkle toes which i persume is the same as what geeg does - if you want a fab glitter finish then theres nothing better than pure glitter in my opinion - im nt sure how glitter would go in black acrylic as never tried that yet but ezflow have a nice black acrylic from the earthstone collection but its more of like a greeny glitter init. i surpose if you were doing twinkle toes then you could try get a black glitter and mix a small amount of another glitter. hmmmm might have to practice the black glitter sometime to see what im blabbering about lol x

:)Thank you everyone for your advice really helps. Will recommend some of your ideas to my client, will try to avoid black glitter in future lol. Think need to keep to gel for toes.

Just an idea
file off glaze n go
slightly thin enhancement
thin coat of L&P clear mixed with glitter - maybe a holographic
glaze n go.

I to have found black glitter a tricky one especially with l&p.
I really nice black glitter is CND "Sin City" - quick, easy and and my clients like it.:)

:green:Thanks again every one ive redone the nails, i filed off the glaze & go then mixed the black with some purple glitter it turned out brilliant she was very happy so that makes me really happy would rather her come and tell me she wasnt happy then go away and never return. Thanks again especially for the idea sian. As for the glaze & go i didnt put it over nail polish i know it goes on the acrylic just wanted to make that point clear. Thanks everyone for your help.
