Hi, I brought all mine from Sallys, then found a website which sold all the ones I had bought, plus the WHOLE collection of glitter polishes which sallys dont sell. I was gutted as they were nearly a pound cheaper each! The site is www.venusnailsupplies.co.uk
Hth xx

hi
bellabeautie

thank you so much, yeah theres loads of china glaze there that sallys dont do. that percision polish looks a bit like china glaze, have you tried any of those?

xxxx

Hi, thats ok! Glad it helped. No I havent tried any of those.... Im using what Ive got then come september I am changing over to CND polishes :green: xx

Anyone thinking of taking on a new polish line should definitely wait until after the summer buy the bare minimum until then just to keep you going .... I would feel gutted if I had taken on a new line only to see something a gazillion times better and more exciting coming out in September. Really there is no comparison now between CG and Creative, and in September the gap will be even wider.

whats the creative polishes like? is there anywhere that i can look at the new polishes coming out?

thanks
xxxx

Well coming form CND you can be certain they are superb polishes already and have been for 25 years .

The answer to your question is, right now, NO you can't. The launch will be a surprise to all BUT those who know CND will also have complete confidence in the quality and efficacy of anything CND bring out which of course is new and improved .. otherwise there wouldn't be much point in doing it! There will be many new and special features. I can personally promise you that you will not be disappointed ... I HAVE seen and tried and I know!

I hate teasing you but that is how it has to be until September. Sorry.

September is a life time away Gigi.....thats when I hit the big 4 0 ....... if its before the 17th ill still be in my 30's lol

Don't bother trying to find them in the U.K, just like in Sweden China Glaze is very overpriced there. I buy mine in the U.S instead at about x,x USD per bottle plus shipping of about x more USD per bottle which I think is a lot better than the English prices and way better than the Swedish prices of xxx sek/each. You have to add taxes and import fees to that though but I still save more than 50% if I buy from the U.S.

About China Glaze, I noticed that it's not a common brand in England. I think that's a shame as I find them really easy to apply (even for a clutz like me!) and they last very long as well. They also got lots of nice colours and I love that each new collection have a specific theme. China Glaze and OPI must be my top two favourite brands and I've tried lots of polishes.

I've recently switched to China Glaze and absolutely love it. It is just as good quality as OPI, great colors, goes on smooth (can't overstroke it though) and it wears just as good. And for the price you can't beat it. The main thing I really like about China Glaze is that it doesn't get thick when you have used half of it. As of yet I haven't had to use any thinner........yeaaaaaaaa!

I love China Glaze polishes too, I wouldn't say they are over priced though, for a good quality polish.

The main distributer in the UK is The Beauty Partnership, they have every colour you could think of.

Hope this helps x

If you are working in the UK then it makes sense to support your UK distributors when buying products AND incorporate the prices of your products into the overall cost to the client.
This doesn't amount to very much per treatment (pennies for enamel, per treatment) and definitely not worth buying from overseas IMO, especially when you have to add shipping and HM Customs/taxes on to the final costings!

Did you have to order them HAZMAT delivery too?

I'm not talking about cost per treatment, I'm talking about total cost for polishes. I believe you can save a lot if you know where to buy.

I can't see why I'd support U.K distributors, especially if they're overpricing their products. Even when I bought polishes from the U.S they were 50% cheaper than in Sweden (and prob U.K too) after I've added all fees, taxes and delivery costs. And I didn't buy wholesale as the distributors do.

And I've no idea what HAZMAT is.

The distributors aren't overpricing the products, they have to pay taxes/customs charges, they have to pay HAZMAT delivery (hazardous materials) due to some ingredients in the products being flammable (enamel included). Plus, don't forget that when buying from the USA the tax there is cheaper than in the UK!

If you were a working technician then you would be thinking about the cost per treatment and as this is a salon professionals community website that's what we think about when buying products!

So... back to my point... when you base the cost of a bottle of enamel on a per treatment basis it is pennies. The cost is incorporated into the treatment pricing so you don't in fact lose out financially.

I *know* that they have to pay taxes and all the fees, just like I did (and got away 50% cheaper than they cost in the shops). I don't think that HAZMAT shipping makes up for the rest of the 50% or even close. The conclusion:

They are making a really big profit! In other words, overpricing. Simple maths.

Sure, (if we're going to think about cost per treatments) the difference would be a few pennies but if you work with this for your whole life then it makes up quite a bit of money.
