bit of market research concerning chocolate!

the idea of being smothered in chocolate

No sorry i only like to eat chocolate,
when i think of it for a treatment it makes me think of been all yucky and sticky

I personally LOVE the idea of being smothered in chocolate, and love choc fragranced candles, etc, but am aware that other people are repelled by it.

Before I spend a lot of money buying in chocolate themed products I have embarked on some market research and was GOBSMACKED at the results. So thought I would get the 'professional' attitude to it.

If you are looking towards summer i find coconut fragrance to be an all round winner with 99% of clients hth

Arrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrgh, I can't think of anything worse but that is just my personal opinion.
I'm really funny about sickly sweet smells and anything containing chocolate, coconut or vanilla makes me feel really queasy.

Personally I would not have a chocolate treatment, however I am eager to add a chocolate manicure to my menu as soon as I can find some products.

Like marmite, you either love 'em or hate 'em, and I want to be able to offer them to those than love 'em. I'm keen to add them to my menu by easter, and I am going to target my marketing at men looking for an easter gifts for their other halves, especially if those other halfes are on diets!

Apparently, the smell of chocolate satisfies a persons craving for chocolate just as much as eating it does, and so its a marvellous treatment to offer a chocaholic who is trying to cut down.

Not something I'd personally like for myself. Would feel way too sickly. Had a bath recently with chocolate bubble bath and regreted that - nice but too sickly!

I've seen chocolate warm wax somewhere, thought that sounded nice to use, can't remember where though... any ideas?

although I like chocolate.....and like the smell....
I think having a service that smells like it ....
or even made from it would be a bit of a sensory overload....

not my cup of tea...but then again...there are allot of things
that are not my cup of tea....

I've always wondered about these chocolate treatments ... but never actually fancied having it done. Not for me, and I don't think I could perform the treatment either ... but who knows it could be heaven and we're all missing out!

(BTW it's Jose, not hoosey!!!! LOL)

You know how you can get patches to help you stop smoking?? Well, in Boots (and other chemists I'm sure), you can get patches to help you stop eating chocolate. They work by giving off a scent of vanilla or chocolate, and that way your senses feel they have had their chocolate fix from the smell, making it far less likely for you to want to eat any chocolate.

As much as I wouldnt want one, I think its a fantastic idea to market the choc manicure on this basis, not only does the client get their calorie free chocolate fix, but they get a relaxing de-stressing treatment and nice polished hands aswell!!

For me I dont think I can afford to pass up on an opportunity to market a treatment that makes me unique from the other salons in the area.

I'm planning on buying some retail sizes of the VaniT stuff to give it ago, then if I think it's worth it I'll get pro sizes and retail stock.

Love chocolate as a food treat, but wouldn't want to be covered in anything that smelt like it. I think it might smell a bit sickly, but then that's just me.

It's an interesting treatment to add to your menu though and I can see quite a few people taking it up to try it out, maybe it would go well at pamper parties / spa days.

personally I wouldn't fancy having one, although many people would, it just doesn't appeal to me.

Please will someone tell me where you can get chocolate manicure products? I want to add them to my menu for Easter. I was given a couple of ideas on another thread (Ellisons and another one that I cant remember), but to no avail.

Surely there must be somewhere because if you google Chocolate Manicure, you get loads of salons that offer this service!!!

Vani T does a scrub, oil and mask.

The reason for being wrapped in chocolate is not just pampering it is good for stress. Eating chocolate releases feel good endorphins but once the chocolate bar has been finished you always get a come down effect but with chocolate body wraps you get the rush of feel good endorphin but not the come down effect - a happy feeling for the client.

After the chocolate is removed the skin is not sticky just silky soft, wraps can also be made into chocolate orange or chocolate mint depending on the client.

hi.
I made my own chocolate scrub, organic choc powder, sugar and almond oil. Do a search on google, there are loads.
Having said that - When I first opened I offered a complete chocolate experince and didn't have much interest. However the Thai system, Manicure and Pedicure go down a treat.

I once had a honey massage, honey was dripped on to my head whilst i was covered in it, and massaged. it felt good, but strange and when i had to turn over i realised what a year old sweet at the bottom of your hand bag feels like....

that sounds lovely, if you want someone to practice on give me a shout.
