I have a couple of questions that I'd like some advice on if you please......

Firstly, are you happy to leave your nail kit in the comp area at the show? I'm staying at London City Airport Travelodge, so I either take the car over and pay to park it (but can put my kit back in it) or leave it at the hotel and leave my kit in the comp area. I'm not lugging it around the show all afternoon!

Also, I plan to change out of my uniform after the comp - are there any reasons why I shouldn't??

If my model really needs a wee can she go?

I'm sorry for asking daft questions but this is my first competition and these are the things worrying me at the moment!!!!! Thanks.....

Ive got changed after competing.... i hate being in a dusty tunic!
I have never had any probs leaving my stuff in the comp area....remember you will nt be able to go in the room til after all the judging is finished
Once your model has been judged then it is fine for her to go to the loo but she cant before for obvious reasons (just make sure she doesnt drink too much tea in the morning as if shes last to be judged she mite be dying by then...lol)

I have often left my kit in the comp arena but have not always felt comfortable doing so. Remember, if anything goes missing it is your responsibility.

Re changing, I have never changed (even though I would prefer to) because I have usually had enough to carry in my kit and wouldn't have managed to carry a change of clothing too. If I could change, I sure would.

Your model should be really limited to looking after her nails until she is judged.

Good luck!

Thanks girls! I reckon I'll leave the car at the hotel then, as long as my kit will be ok! I'm sure I'll find more things to worry about before next Monday......:):)

How heavy is your kit hon? Its a 10 min walk to ExCel from the hotel xx

Well, I've got a silver box and a heavy bag that has wheels so I can pull it along...... I went on the DLR last year from the same hotel.....

That should be ok then. Was just thinking that you wouldn't want to wear your arms out carrying your stuff before the comp!

(Btw, whats the DLR?)

Cool! Must have been walking around with my eyes shut last year as I didn't see it:o. Maybe we can meet up and you can point us in the right direction lol. We're staying at the same hotel xx

Docklands Light Railway! Like the tube but on top of the ground, lol!!!! It stops right at ExCel.....
I too am staying at Travel Lodge London City Airport. Is it better to get the DLRW than walk? I was under the impression that it was within walking distance? Thanks!

Dont take your car mate it costs at least £10.00 and its £5.00 a day your at the hotel, I always walk it, never thought of doing the train, gonna be a cool geekyweekend me thinks, see you at the travel lodge girlies:)

All these Geeky boozers - how am I going to stay sober - HELP!!!!!!

Chris, I wont be repeating the excessive drinking of last year, I havent felt so bad in years, I was positivley green and was begging the hotel to let me stay in bed all day...lol
a few sedate wines is all it will be for me, I dont change either vetty and leave my stuff in the comp area, but saying that at manchester they told us we had to take the kits with us, which was a bit of a pain.

Normally, we are allowed into the Exhibition Hall before the doors open to the general public at 10am. I understand that for security purposes nobody will be allowed in prior to the doors opening at 10am.

Just checked, Monday morning comp, registration is at 10am, briefing is at 10.30 and comp starts at 10.40. We'll get a bit of a lay in this year lol xx

Myself and pips will be staying at the travel lodge London city airport (big thanks to fozzyo for letting us share his room )
sounds like there will be a lot of geeks in this hotel so I'm sure we can all help out the geeks who are competing by helping with bags and cases and things, many hands make light work

just a thought i had on the dusty uniform issue.
could you wear an apron over your uniform whilst you work and then remove it and put it in with your kit afterwards?

It's not so much the dust for me, I just don't like wearing a tunic so the sooner I can get out of it the better!!!!!

Thanks for the info and comments girls, if I think too much about it I'm bricking it so I'm currently in denial, lol!! I am def not drinking on Sunday night btw......
