Gumtree now charging - will you be paying?

Ive just went to post a new ad on Gumtree for my beauty treatments and realised now you have to pay to advertise in the Business services Beauty treatments bit.

Will anyone else pay or are you now put off?

Nope. I wouldn't pay. Part of the appeal of gumtree was that it was free...

Oh my god NO WAY!! I just checked this out and it 4.95 for 30 days!
Nope I wont be advertising on there either!!!
Lets boycot Gumtree lol xxx

I think £4.95 for local advertising is pretty good.
I used to advertise with gumtree and stopped when they started charging but looking at my web stats I used to get a few from gumtree so I think I'm going to try it for a couple of months.

I also just posted for free, are you sure you dont get charged for a specially featured listing? Or is this a new charge for a longer listing? On COventry gumtree homepage there is a big tab "post a free ad"

Ahh ive just figered something out -

I always go on gumtree uk london which posts everywhere - but when you go into your city aka essex it doesnt charge you for posting.

So anyone who thinks they will be charged just click on your actual city

Yer ive just done an add and it was free the only time you pay is when you upgrade your add

How annoying is that - i checked it out after reading this post - iasi haven't had any clients from them i will not be paying them £4.95 because to be honest your listing goes so far down the page within a day or 2 of posting - not worth it to me

Oooh that is extremely irritating! I live in London so I now have to pay! That is extremey vexing. I won't be paying especially as regardless of what I lost I always get chaps asking if I do 'personal massage'! Honestly do I look like I'm advertising my prostitutional services along with the waxing and mani/pedis? I don't think so! Or at least I hope not! Lx
