Help with French White tips

hi ive just ordered french white tips to use with gel
just woundering how u do them do u blend them any tips would be great

You don't blend white tips hun.:hug:
This would defeat the purpose of using them as the smile line would disappear xxx

I dont think it really matters if they have or havn't got a well. Most White tips are all alike, once you have prepped the nail, apply the tip in the usual way, there is no need to blend a white tip as by doing so you are taking away the smile line (whole point of using a white tip to begin with)

Once you have the nail in place, cut & file to length & shape, use a white block and gently remove the shine then go about applying your product in the usual way.

the reason i asked if well-less or not is that application is different, and the finished look is certainly different.
no blending required on white tips but some techs do file out a smilier smile line on a tip with a small contact area prior to applying.
the smile on a well-less tip is usually more pronounced and can be more pleasing to the eye.

White tips are fantastic- i love them BUT they do not blend.

If they are a well less tip like Creative Performance White you just put them on the free-edge,and continue with with your application.

If they have a small well-you need to file it out first,or cut with a scissors ,then put it on and continue with your application.

If you are using Gel, white tips are NOT recommended,as the UV light finds it hard to cure them,because they are opaque.,(not see thru) and you could have service breakdown(problems).

Most Gel users prefer clear or natural colored tips,and they come in well-less too for your clients with a tiny free- edge or with a small well for your nail biters or problem nails

This statement isn't quite right. Sorry Mrs. O.

If you are using a translucent/clear gel, then it will cure over any opaque tip.

It is only when using a White gel or coloured opaque gel that one needs to use a clear tip so the light can penetrate from both sides for a complete cure.

Hi,

I have another question regarding french tips..

I'm currently learning Gel Nails with EN and have bought some french tips just to try them out. They don't look too bad but as I'm still learning, my application is probably not great and that made me think - how can you see if you have any air bubbles underneath a french tip??
Probably a stupid question I know :o

Or do I just assume once I get lots of practice there won't be any air bubbles? :green:

Also be careful of the resin that you are using to adhere the tip to the natural nail.

I know from my own experience, im using calgel, I use their resin with their gel, I cant speak for other gel users or systems. I find that im ok with any professional tip though

im sure people have used white tips with gel and had no problems and maybe i would use it on myself but i wouldnt use it on clients as i know it is likely that there will be problems.
and as you are still learning you could do without these problems as how will you know if something is your fault or just because you used white tips with gel.hths hun.x

I thought that Gigi said you can use white tips with Gel as long as you're using clear gel as this has no effect on the curing of the gel...
But I think I will stick with natural tips for now until I get more practice in :hug:

that is right about if you are using clear or a transparant gel but i prefer not to use white tips with gel as im not sure how you would do a rebalance as the white wouldnt cure over the white tip when you had to replace the smile line if that makes sense?.x

I would do away with the white tips and use white gel..... rebalance will be a pain with white tips, you will have to go over the white tip in white gel...much easier just to rebalance the white gel....
